Good day steemians!

September is Math and Science Month. So, DepEd Lapu-Lapu organized a Math and Science Fair. This fair comprises different activities in relation to the two subjects. And since I am a Math teacher I will focus more on my field.

✨SCHOOL LEVEL MATH FAIR✨

Since next week we will have our our District Level Math Fair, so we had to choose some participants from our school to compete for the District Level. It was happen yesterday. We started the activity at 10am and finished it at 6pm. We do it simultaneously, our master teacher assigned each teacher in every activity.

I was assigned in Math Quiz together with my 3 other colleagues. In this activity, we prepared 20 Math questions. The challenging part of this is that there is an alloted time in each item. 15 seconds for Easy Round for 1 point and they had to answer it mentally, 30 seconds for Average Round for 2 points, they can now write their solutions on a clean size paper, and 1 minute for the Difficult Round for 3 points. Failure to raise their paper once the teacher will aay so will be disqualified in that certain round. We will be choosing the best 3 students in each year level to compete for District Level contest.

After the Math Quiz, I then went to DaMath area to help the facilitator to check the results.

Damath Game is a board game in which each chips has an alloted number depending on your grade level, and the board has the four operations. Each set has 2 oponents in which the winner will be declared if you got the bigger score. In grade 10, we had 9 players. In each player they had to play 8 games. And in Math their chips are polynomials. This is the hardest damath because in order for them to get the answer, they had to substitute first the value of x and y.

We also had Digital art in which they had to draw using their gadget using ibis.paint app. And the learner's output were pretty amazing.

We also had sudoko game, and Math tactics. The event is so tiresome yet we were so happy because we were able to let the learners grow and show their mathematical skills.

That is all for now. Inviting my teacher friends @jes88 and @mercy11 to share their entries.

Sincerely,

[K Y R I E 1 2 3 4]

  • The math competition seems to be very exciting, although it is very tiring because it starts from morning to evening. I also just found out about the Damath Game, it seems like it is a fun game for children to play and can hone their knowledge in math.
