Hello friends! I'm @moazzamushtaq from #pakistan and I welcome all of you to my post. Hopefully that you all will be fine and will be enjoying your lives. Today I'm going to participate in SLC-S21W1 in Teachers & Students The topic is "Developing a Learning Contract". Let's start the topic;
What obstacles can a teacher face in the learning process in the classroom? |

A Teacher faces numerous obstacles in the classroom while delivering his lecture and these obstacles impact his ability to educate the students in an effective way. The obstacle may be the time management mean lecture is long and you have to finish in short time. One major obstacle is managing diverse student needs. Beside this language barriers, technology issues, managing class discipline, instructional materials. Below I have explained some main obstacles;
- Class management and discipline:
Effective classroom management and discipline in the students is very important for creating a productive and respectful learning environment within the classroom. A teacher have to face all kinds of students in his lecture, ofcourse a classroom is the mixture of good, bad, brilliant, narrow minded students. It depends on a teacher that how he deals with all students. Keeping himself professional his behavior will be friendly when students show him positive response, otherwise he will be rude for creating a disciplined environment within the class. Because discipline is the key to learn something in a best way.
- Instructional materials:
Lack of instructional materials is also an obstacle of which a teacher face in class. Missing of instructional materials mean lack of modern technology which is used to deliver lecture effectively nowadays. For example a teacher who prepares a lecture in his home which he aims to deliver in next day. For making his lecture more interesting and easy he makes some slides. But during the lecture when he comes to know that LCD or cpu is not working, what will he do in this situation. For overcome this situation he must have some useful techniques so that he can be prevent from any kind of inconvenience.
- Lack of confidence in students:
It's a common matter that students having a brilliant mind give bad result. It's all happens due to lack of confidence in the students. As a student I also know this point very well that a student must has enough confidence that he can answer the every question quickly ask by teacher during lecture, whether the answer is wrong or right. And teacher must give positive feedback to his answer. If the students are confident, there will a friendly and healthy environment for delivering lecture within the classroom.
What is the importance of learning contracts? How is the learning contract helping my learning process? |

Learning contracts are very important as they us the way to know our accountability. These contracts are crucial as they establish clear objectives, responsibilities and expectations between the instructor and learners. Below is brief description.
- Personal accountability:
Personal accountability is very necessary before starting any new work, whether it is big or small because it helps us to know about our power of doing that work in prominent way. Same personal accountability is important in learning and teaching process. By knowing our accountability our motivation and commitment to teach and learn increase in between both learner and instructure.
- Clarity and focus:
Learning contracts help us to outline the specific objectives, our aims that what we have to achieve in future. When we have clear vision about what we have to learn we will focus on that main point. That's the reason learning contracts are vital in education field.
- Reflection:
There should be a very strong contract of learning between teacher and students. When teacher teach in committed way, the next turn of students. Now students try their best to gain that knowledge. After learning they should give feedback to teacher so that they can reflect that how much knowledge gain from the lecture.

World is making progress in every field of life. For meeting with the requirements, it is necessary to adopt modern way of teaching and learning in our educational institutes. If I'm a teacher first I will use modern technology to deliver my lectures. In modern technology online classes are main point. I will conduct these online classes on skill based not only for delivering my lesson to students. First I will full be aware of the specific skill of a student than I will start my lecture so that I can make it fully understandable. I think having bad communication, body language or lack of confidence are the main causes of unsuccessful person. So these points will be key point during my lectures.
Creativity is also another important key that I will adopt during classes. We can compare it with the skills of students as well. In my lecture I will ask to my students to perform some creative work like graphic design, art or any other creative work. It will enhance their capability to do excellent work by themselves. Next key point is communication skills, yes a person having an excellent communication skill can attract anyone easily. So in my classes I will conduct some lectures on communication in which students communicate each other on specific topic.

For ensuring student compliance with the learning contracts, a teacher must adopt some specific strategies. These strategies must be helpful for producing productive way of learning. As a teacher I will use following strategies;
Encouraging students for communication:
I will encourage my students for communication with me. Suppose the lecture duration is 1 hour. First 45 minutes I will teach my lesson and after 5 minutes relaxation last 10 I will offer them for communication. If they have any question relating to lesson or way of teaching is needed to improve, they will ask me and I will try to resolve their problem.
Focus on key points:
Sometime the lesson is lengthy and students do not understand the complete topic, mean what the auther want to convey in his topic. For this I will recommend my students for focus on key words or sentence that are making the overall content. By doing this students easily understand the lesson whether it is long or difficult.
Use of technology:
As I have mentioned above that for living in this life we have to change to ourselves with world. As thus is the modern age, the use of technology is in every field I will also get some benefit from this technology. I will use technology in teaching process by different ways. Like online classes, online researches, taking help from AI etc.
Hopefully by using the strategies mention above will improve my teaching process.
