Below is my diary game of how I'm spending my holiday in the village. My village is at Nkwot Edem Edet, Ikono, Akwa ibom State. This is what happened yesterday and how my day went yesterday.
Morning Activities
Waking up in the village is always a thing of joy for me. The cool breeze that whirls every morning serves as a good time for meditation. I woke up yesterday morning by 6Am and took a walk down the village, perceiving nature's breathe. After returning, I helped sweet the floor, wash the plates and also do certain house chores. Before doing so I started my day with prayer for guidance throughout the day. I later went to a nearby borehole and fetch water for doing certain domestics and cooking.
And I also helped mum watering the garden, and finally went to football training since that's the best time for that.
Afternoon
In the afternoon I washed my dirty clothes after coming back from training.I also arrange the house and ate a plate full of porridge beans and rice. After that I went to my room to take my siesta anticipating going out in the evening.
Evening
in the evening, I went out watching my village play against another village. It was a turnout as my village gave them four knots. The match ended 4:1 and we Departed rejoicing. It was a day filled with excitement and hope. After the match, I took a stroll to places I've never been and also saw how content people live their lives. I was a great day for me because I had a great time too. I learnt a lot from people, the trees in the village and the cooperation between members of the community. Yesterday was actually amazing.
That's the brief summary of how I spent my day. Try going for a weekend in your village and your life won't remain the same, asides the financial aspect.
