Hellooooo everyone, is another wonderful week with another interesting contest. I am taking you on a tour around Lagos state.

Lagos State source

MY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT LAGOS STATE.

If you have been to Lagos state you will believe with me that Lagos State is a large city with many population.

Lagos state is a state with many opportunities of survival when it comes to livelihood.Lagos state comprises with people of different tribes and different languages, as a result of that there re varieties when it comes to food, fruits, drinks and other things.

One big problem or challenge that occupants of Lagos state are facing is traffic jam, imagine someone after the whole day at work hurrying to get home and have some rest only to spend 4 hours or more on transportation because of traffic, that fellow will be frustrated.

Lagos has two phases;

  • The mainland.
  • The island.

There are so many companies, schools, hospitals, factories in Lagos state creating numerous job opportunities for the occupants.

MODE OF TRANSPORTATION IN LAGOS STATE

Lagos state have different mode of transportation.
E.g

  • By land.
  • By water.
  • By air.

DISPACTHER.

Due to high population of people in this city, there are many land transportation.

Dispatcher
Dispatch is one mode of transportation we have use here in Lagos state. Dispatcher's transport goods from one area to another.

WHO MANAGES THEM AND HOW ARE THEY MAINTAIN

Some dispatch machines are owned by individuals, while some are owned by some companies.

Most companies and business owners have there own dispatch to make there business easy, and also to make more profit.

And the owners give those dispatches adequate maintenance because the do a lots of Job.

On my discussion with a rider he told me that his dispatch goes for service on weekly basis to avoid breaking down on the way.

While most companies have special mechanics that comes to service those dispatchs on intervals.

MOTOCYCLIST OR OKADA.

Okada
Motorcycle or Okada as we call it here, is another mode of transportation in Lagos state. Due to the level of traffic, many people feel more comfortable using this mode of transportation because its faster than other mode of transportation.

WHO MANAGES THEM AND HOW ARE THEY MAINTAIN

This operation is managed by the owners which are mostly the northerners or Hausa people, most of them waybill it from there different states to Lagos, just to make ends meet.

They have different mechanics that helps them maintain the motorcycle.

YELLOW DANFO BUS./ TRICYCLE OR KEKE NAPEP

Tricycle on the move

This is another mode of transportation in Lagos state.
Those buses and keke napep are available in every part of lagos, they help to transport people to work and bring them back home

WHO MANAGES THEM AND HOW ARE THEY MAINTAIN.

They are being owned and managed by individuals not company.

Most of the drivers drive thos buses on higher purchase or daily payment.
They agree on a particular amount they should be bringing home.

BRT (Bus Rapid Transit)

BRT on the move
BRT is another means of transportation people use here in Lagos.

It is called by the name BRT meaning bus rapid transit because it is a faster means to beat traffic jam, why? Because they have a special lane on the road just only for them, not other vehicle uses that lane, as a result of that they don't face traffic jam like other vehicles.

Unlike other means of transportation that you just come to the bus stop and join, BRT users have an access card that they subscribe on monthly or weekly bases.

And without it they cant join the bus.

WHO MANAGES THEM AND HOW ARE THEY MAINTAIN.

BRT buses are owned by Lagos state Government and is being managed by the people working in the transportation department called "Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority."(LAMATA)

Red buses (MOLUE)

This is another means of transportation in Lagos State, that transport's people from one place to another.

Whenever I see this bus, I laugh a lot! why? This buses called by the term 'molue' doesn't stop for anyone, its always on the move, people jump in and people jump out.
It really helps people to get to far places at a cheaper rate, like from Ikorodu to Lagos Island.

HOW PREVALENT ACCIDENTS OCCURS, IF ANY, GRADE THEM IN FATAL, MODERATE AND MINOR CATEGORY AND HOW VICTIMS ARE TAKEN CARE OF.

From my little experience I will say that Lagos state do not have much experience in fatal accidents, because even though they are large in population, they try to abide with traffic rules which is one way to avoid accident.

In Lagos state the okada or motorcyclist people are the most victim when it comes to accident, because of the way they always speed.

In some cases if there is any accident the individual involved takes care of himself. While some people have insurance that covers them, and those insurance companies are the ones to pay hospital bills if any health challenge occurs.

I still need to explore Lagos state more to get more gist about Lagos state.

Thank you all for reading my post.

I was born and partially brought up in Lagos State. I'm glad that it's finally getting better in the means of transportation.

Yea but as for traffic,i don't think that can get better

One big problem or challenge that occupants of Lagos state are facing is traffic jam,

That's right. Lagos is a cosmopolitan city with several means of transportation within the state and neighboring towns suffers a lot of transportation congestion. It's very frustrating, costly and tiresome. I have experienced it too.
