Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 2 (Week2)| Introduce Your Family - My Family My Pride.

Hello guys, welcome to my post. It is actually my first time participating in the steemit engagement contest and also my first time writing to this community. I actually love the context - Introduce your family which is why I have come to express my writing skill here. I plead to become a member of this community.

An Overview of Family

Family is not a big word to any learned individual, even to the less learned ones. It is what every human has experienced and has got pride in, and there's a person on earth that would say he/she doesn't have a family even though it will not be as numerous as other families. Think of it as a group of social people living together under one roof, with one ancestor and the same gene...

The family consists of the adults (Father & Mother) who are not related in any form of blood but has come together through the union of marriage and has begotten some offsprings which are seen as children living together in a particular dwelling. This is how I live with my family, I am an offspring of both persons, and I will be talking about all that consist of my family below in the topic that was laid by the community account @steemalive.

Who are your family members? Where do they live? What are their occupations?

Okay, My name is Chimene by name and I reside in Rivers State and that is where I am writing from. I got to know this platform through a friend of mine called Bright. I want to talk about my family here. My dad and mum leave and work in the same state where I live, although my dad died some years back, I don't want to reflect on that though. Take a look at the picture of my mum and dad below.

The two images above are of my parents. My dad is at the left and my mum at the right. I so much love both of them. They have been my source of strength and motivation. Though my dad is late but during his time on earth he was a very strong man and also a clan chief. In his time, he ruled with wisdom and authority. He was a brave man who created a positive landmark in his family before he died. His memories will forever remain in my heart.

I didn't talk much about my dad because I didn't actually know him very well, he died at an early age but I could still remember his face and his capabilities though. Let me talk about my mum and her business, lol. As you can see from the image above she is a very strong woman, a woman of virtue. Since my dad left us in this space she has been the one taking care of us, and she has been doing well. Let me talk about my mum's business, that one she is using to take care of us all.

I trust the above image will not be new to you guys, yes that is because it is a prominent business in our country, and that is what my mum is doing for a living. She doesn't do it only though, I and my sibling normally help to push the work. She is so strong and brave as well. We live in a small city called Elele town

What Special qualities do you like in each family member

Every family has a unique speciality in one way or the other, I will be talking about my siblings in this section, they so lovely, caring and fun to be with. I will be listing and talking about each of them here.

• My Mum - Gladis Gabriel

This is my mum, her name is Gladis Gabriel. She is a beautiful woman as you can see from the image, she has a good and positive heart. She has been the reason why I am standing firm on this planet earth, her advice is one in a million. Lol, as it is with some mothers, she doesn't tolerate, I don't want to talk about her iron hands, haha. I mean the way she handles me whenever am wrong, she won't hesitate to handle me.

She has the qualities of a good mother, qualities as patience, respect, honesty, authority, empathy, support, and the rest of them. She is a woman that any man will want to have as a wife or mother. My love for her is an extraordinary one. In summary, she is loving.

• My Elder Sister - Mercy Gabriel

See how beautiful she is, smiles. She's my immediate elder sister named Mercy Gabriel. I use to see her as my mum's reason is the same qualities that mum has. She is one of the reasons why I do travel to the village then, although she is taking her Bsc.Ed course. She is so loving and caring, all my moment with her has always been fruitful, like I don't lack food, hehehehe.

Allow me to flaunt her small, lol. She is the tallest in my family which means she has the ability to see far, hahaha. She can cook very well, like there's no way you will taste her food and still be looking for another, yeah. Despite the fact that she isn't on the list but she is always acting like one. Always wanting to take my place as the last born. Below are some wonderful attitudes she possesses.

These are just but a few characters of my lovely sister. Amongst all their qualities, what I like and cherish is her intelligent quality.

Have you ever been helped in a special way by a family member? Tell us your story

I have believed so much in my family member, and I cannot easily forget the assistance from them. The dealth of my dad actually triggered so many favors from them. I want to specially talk about my Aunt, although she is not part of the nuclear family the extended one.

You can take a clear look at that picture. You can even zoom it yourself, lol. Yeah, that's my auntie, she has helped me so much in this life. I'm going to brief it. 2012 was a black year for me and my family. That yeah my mum became a widow as a result of the death of my dad, a brave man, I know he is resting on with the lord.

That year 2012 was a very tight year, after the burial of my dad, things became so hard and difficult to the extent that I had to stop my education 💔. This is why I will never forget this, my aunt. Take a look at her again.

She's small but mighty. She is the reason why I'm where I am today. I can't forget 2019, a year that I stopped schooling because of financial instabilities, and it was when I was going to sit for my WAEC. I got confused because there was no money at all.

My mates were just going to school learning but I was at home because there were no funds, no money, at that point my mum's business was not going too well, a basket of processed cassava was just sold at 350 NGN which was too difficult to cover up my school tuition, too bad then 🤦‍♂️.

Now, let me tell you why I still can't forget my aunt that you're seeing above there. My exam was fast approaching, just 3weeks to go before I got called to come to her house, didn't actually know she was going to pay for fees. I just went and she asked me not to worry and that she will cover it for me. I was very excited.

She registered me and that was how I managed to get my O'level certificate, she was indeed a God-sent then. The most amazing part of it is that she is still sponsoring my education to date. Thank God for her.

Who is your funniest family member?

Everybody have that one family member thag is always fun to be with. I have so many of them in this list but will be talking about my sister, lols. Yeah, my immediate elder sister is always fun to be with, the one I discussed earlier. See her picture below.

See how she is looking like laugh 😂. The kind of joy I used to get whenever I see/stayed with her is unconditional. Among other siblings, she is the best, She can gist for Africa eh like you will get tired of listening self, and the funny aspect is that she will want to false me to listen to everything 😄. And if I refuse to listen she will beat me, though I use to beat her back regardless she's my favorite, love.

Normally, Everybody wants the best out if the family. For my family, I would love a strong union that will attract the world. A family that would come as one to solve problems that is within the family at large - both extended and the nuclear family. I have a brother which is the first son of the family, I want him to become successful and to also know that he is the father that we are all looking at. Below is a picture of him.

He is my beloved brother, LOL. I didn't actually talk about him because he can flog me for Africa, I don't normally spend time with him because he is always harsh and mean. But I still love him and wish he would stop being mean to me especially.

Conclusion
