Morning
Early morning wake up call from bed, came from an old time friend who called to ask me if am available to attend his swearing in ceremony with the governor at City Hall, Lafia, Nasarrawa state. Such was an awesome privilege to be offered the opportunity to be among the invitees for his swearing in, that was not the end, he offered me the opportunity to select some few friends and neighbours to get a vehicle to be part of the entourage. I honored the invitation to his house, went and congratulated him for such uplifting and got the transportation fare to mobilise few friends and be at the swearing in. We got a friends car, we left in the morning to the venue in Lafia where a mammoth crowd was gathered waiting form the arrival of the governor. We got sitted with musical entertainment in the venue shortly the governor came in.
Afternoon
The ceremony started mid day with a national anthem, followed by prayers, reading of welcome address be the Secretary to the State Government, followed by the calling out names of Commissioners nominees to be sworn in. The citation of the commissioner was read by the media Aid to the Governor, alongside his spokes person. The Governor was welcomed to the stage and he proceeded with the swearing in of the commissioners followed by acceptance by each of the commissioners. The Governor delivered his speech and read out the portfolio of each of the commissioners, this was followed by signing of the acceptance letter by the commissioners and a closing national anthem. The event ended by 1:30pm, GMT +1, which we proceeded to snapping pictures with the commissioner, we left to the venue of the reception where people were gathered to receive the newly sworn in commissioner of Youth and Sports Development. After exchanged pleasantries, with musical entertainments by the cultural troops we left to return to our town Akwanga, which is 60KM away from Lafia.
Evening
The experience was worth it and really sweet not until the vehicle started giving us challenges, over heating and we kept stopping at intervals to add water to the calibrator, that delayed our movements to arrive Akwanga by 5:30PM. Upon arrival at home, went straight to take my bath after plugging my phone. I couldn't go out of the house, rest charged my phone checked the social media handles and slept till morning. The experience was a mixture of sweetness and fatigue.
Best Regards
