In this article, I am going to deal on the issue of love, because, I love “love “a whole lot, and of course, love is an everyday word, and everybody needs love.
Indeed, I have been wondering so much about why people talk about loving people, and at the end of the day, they break up with the same people they claim to love in a most horrible, most brutal and traumatizing manner.
I have also wondered so much about how a person would talk so much about loving a person so very deeply, and might eventually even marry the person, and their wedding might even have been the most elaborate, and the most talked about wedding in town, yet after a very short while the marriage would suddenly end in a most ignominious, and most unbelievable divorce, on the grounds of what is often called “ irreconcilable differences “ etc.
Equally, many people have often talked about loving a person, and have shown the person all kinds of genuine concerns, cares, and goodwill, but all of a sudden they would just pick up a gun, a knife or raw acid etc and aim at terminating the life of the very person they have been claiming to love all along. In fact, all these and more instances, of “ love, loving and suddenly hating “ have given me deep concerns and sleepless nights, and have led me into researching on love, and from my research , I have come to find out that, there are many types of love, and most times people mistake lust for love. And that many marriages and relationships generally, have been built on the wrong type of love. And that eventually led to their collapse.

Types of Love

There are different types of love namely :
1.Eros
2.Storge
3.Philos
4.Platos
5.Ludos
6.Pragma
7.Agape
8.Mania

Definitions

1.Eros :
This type of love has to do with beauty and sexual love. It is, indeed basically about sexual gratification, and fleshly lust, just to satisfy the cravings of the body sexually.
2.Storge :
Compassionate love, natural affection, like parental love. Parental type of love, that is,
Parent to child, and child to parent type of love.

1. Philos :
   Ordinary liking, natural love, like the normal love between brothers, and sisters of the same parents.
   4.Platos :
   Pure love between people without any string attached to it. This type of love is very aromantic.
2. Ludos :
   Playful love, pettings, there is nothing serious about this at all. An older person may just be very fun of a young child calling him “ My husband “ of “ My wife “ as the case may be ; can even be buying gifts for him, or her, yet all this cannot lead to anything serious, just for the fun of it.
   6.Pragma :
   Business kind of love, using love to get what you need, one can love a professional colleague , just because they are into the same business, and helping each other to grow in the business, and nothing more to it , ordinarily.
   7.Agape :
   Ideal love, best form of love, a highly unconditional love, a very far-reaching soul to soul love , without any condition attached to it.
   8.Mania :
   Obsessive love, a mad type of love, can often be very irrational. This type of love is very crazy indeed, such that the person, who is into it, can even fight for what he or she does not even understand.

Conclusion

And, so from the forgoing, we can see that there are different types of love and so there is every need for us to first of all, get to know the type of love being shown to us by anybody, so that, we can understand the type of love it is, and then consider whether or not we can accept it, so that we don't end up building a different kind of relationship or notion on a different type of love, that is not meant for that particular purpose we intend to put it into. And, indeed putting a different peg in a different type of hole can create a terrible misfit and mismatch, that can cause a horrible devastation.
Indeed it is always proper, and rational to put a round peg in a round hole in everything we do, and this should also extend to our love life.
And, so let's always be wise in making decisions in our love relationships.
