What is mango?

Mango!, Mangifera according to India are tropical stone fruit, it's about a grapefruit size. There are many species of mango of which the Colors defer too. Some mango has green color while some has yellow or red color. The fruit has an inedible hard stone in the middle. This tropical fruit is refreshing and delicious and like most plant, it has great nutritional benefits that this post will highlights.

An 80g fresh mango has the following elements:

0.7g protein

Nutritional benefits

Mango are good source of protective compounds with antioxidants properties, this plant chemicals include gallotannins and mangiferin, both properties have been studied for their ability to counter the oxidative stress associated with day to day living and exposure to toxic.

As with other plants foods many of these compounds are found in and beneath the fruit skin, study some years back focusing at the peel of mangoes conclude that it may play a role in preventing obesity. Another study proof that people with chronic constipation who ate mango over a week period enjoy significant improvement in their symptoms, actually the fiber content and other compounds present in the fruit too.

Mango contain reasonable level of both vitamins A and C. Vitamin C is involved in the formation of callogen , the protein that act as a scaffold to the skin keeping it plump and firm. vitamin C is one of the most important antioxidants playing a protective role against environmental damage, insufficient vitamin C in the body can affect wound healing and increase fine lines wrinkles.

A cell require vitamin A for growth including the skin and hair and some findings suggest that it may offer potential protective effects against the signs of aging, One of vitamin A's key role is it's involvement in the protection of sebum the oily substance that moisturize our skin and scalp.
