Greetings everyone in the steemit community, I appreciate everyone of you for finding time to read my post and making meaningful comment that not just encourage me but teach to improve in my articles. Please follow along as I enumerate the importance of Shea butter.

What is Shea butter

Shea butter comes from the nut of the American Shea tree 🌴 also known as Ori, which originate from the savannah region of West and central Africa. Shea tree 🌴 are not cultivated, they only grow wild reach a hight of twenty meters and take more than fifteen years to bear their first edible fruit

They have a useful life of 300 years, Shea butter comes from two oily grain 🌾 found in the seed of the Shea Tree 🌴. After separation from the seed, the grain is crushed to a powder and boiled in water, the butter hardens as it rises to the surface of the water. Shea butter has a long term use as a cosmetics components, it is an excellent product to soften, soothe and condition the skin due to its high content of vitamins and fatty acids and it's easy to spread consistency.

Shea butter application in food

Shea butter has been used as a component in preparation of multiple foods in Africa 🌍 for generations, there are several advantages to using Shea product which vary depending on the type of Shea butter in the product.

nutritional benefits of Shea butter

Nutritional information for Shea butter is limited because it's made up primarily of organic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid and arachidic acid. However this fatty acids provide various health benefits, such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

according to USDA 100kg Shea butter contains the following nutrients

Energy: 884 kcal

Protein: 0g

Fat (total lipids): 100g

Fibra: 0g

Carbohydrates: 0g

Fatty acids total saturated: 46.6g

Fatty acids total noun saturated: 44g

Fatty acids total polyunsaturated: 5.2g

Fat

The fat provides all the calories in the Shea butter. Research shows that stearic, linoleic, and palmitic fatty acids and other fatty components in the oil. Such that If you eat just one serving there are 14grams of total fat, one tablespoon is considered one serving.

Micronutrients

Supporters of Shea butter claim it is high in vitamin E for moisturizing and moisturizing skin cream 🍨 but it's contains no vitamins or minerals, according to the USDA in terms of food preparation.

Carbohydrates

The estimated glycemic load and glycemic index of Shea butter are zero indicating that it contains no carbohydrates, no sugar, no starch, and no fiber.

Varieties of Shea butter

Shea butter comes in four varieties: raw, unrefined, refined, and Altra refined Shea butter, Shea nut are processed in the same way for all types. However additional processing such as filtration, contaminant and odor removal, color change and composition modification makes a difference.

Butter is good and rich with couples of staying healthy related element and minerals , Mainly vitamins . Getting down an overview of Shea butter , though you did have nice write up here . And I would not get against your source as stated already . But instead you should know that any that is being exposed to sun rays are capable and are potential carrier of vitamins. Except root extract known should be highly rich in carbohydrates . And on like that .

With your explanation of Shea butter , it should he loaded with some elements and minerals/vitamins.

You did well putting this post about shea butter, honestly speaking I thought it was to grow hair faster and let it has weight so it won't cut off easily, but here I say it's edible in a way.

Shea butter is very good and has so many uses. Personally, I use it to make my body and hair creams.
I remember when I was little whenever I or any of my siblings has cough, my mother will dissolve Shea butter and give us to drink, sometimes mixed with honey and within few, days the cough will stop.
