Introduction

Hello steemians, how are you all doing? Hope great. Happy to be back to this platform after two months of health challenge . Am happy to be hear again to share my story.

Before i proceed, i will like to extend my warm regard to my extended family members who have been there for me always expecially in this two months of serious health challenge. I grew up in a family of 8, 4boys and 4girls together with parents making us 10 in number. Family with heart of gold which we inherited from our parents.

When ever my dad is in the position of help, he uses his last card to do so. Despite growing up without much assistance because of the background he came from, God blessed him and he was able to help the rest of the family members even the elderly ones both financially, academically and otherwise. As time goes, things changed and turned upside down for my dad, but no one was there for him.

The only sister he has died, leaving behind 6children which includes; 2years, 4years, 6years etc. The sisters husband was not capable enough financially and my dad just weeded newly, so he took them all in our house, with the help of my mum, he trained them all but now they forgot him. That of the 2years old son is currently living in Germany and he is doing well over there but he forgot us.

I can recall 2years ago when he came home, dash every member of the family #200,000 but he never remember my dad talk more of my mum. Two days later, he bought #600 bread gave it to his 10year old step sisters (the father later remarried) and the girl brought it to our house. To be sincere, everybody in our house was shocked . well, no problem, my dad took the bread, thank him and send his blessings to him.

Have you been helped by extended family members?

Hmm, let me not say no because not all are hardhearted. An adage said "he who is saying well done to workers is still among them". So those that are ready to help are not financially stable. At least they call to know how you are doing and encourage you with words of mouth.

How has your extended family members help or refuse to help you?

Hmm, my people, to the hardhearted ones they dont care, but to few who cares, they dont have. At least i can recall of my uncles who cares helped this few months that i was sick. It is true they dont have the cash but they came several times to know how am doing, they even call everyday to know how am fairing. They even suggested places where i can go and get better treatment. Even now am ok, they call to know how am fairing. To be sincere, am much grateful. Thanks to you uncle Raymond and uncle Earnest. What was your challenge then?

MONEY. Money was the greatest challenge then because non among all the places we went for the treatment was less than #500,000. A sickness i cant explain the name. Hearing about the money that is involved was another challenge because it made my BP high and stressed me mentally.

My hubby brought the little he can because he is already having challenge in his business. His uncle brought the little he can which was surprising to me because i never expected such amount from him. Both my mum, dad, and siblings combined to make up the money. But the one that surprised me most was my kid brother, ss2 student, 18years of age. He gave me #130,000 to add to the one at hand.

He said"You are the one that encouraged me to open a bank account on january and be saving the little money am getting from the mini job am doing during weekends and holidays, am able to save more than anyone can imagine for the past six months, therefore use this #130,000 to add to what is at hand, always remember that health is wealth, as far as there is life, there is hope, better days lies ahead, always remember that your little brother loves you."

My people, i was shocked, and at the same time relieved. May God almighty continue to bless this boy.

Because of how you were treated by a family member, how do you see them?

To those hardhearted ones, i have no vaccum in my heart to bear grudge, they are still my blood, if i still have something for them, i will do it. But for the caring ones, words cant express how i fell or see them. Both those that assisted in cash and those that assisted in kind, they all are awesome, and God will continue to be with them all.

Do you think you can survive without the assistance of extended family members?

Yes is the answer. The experience i had showed it all that with or without them, i and my family can, for the fact that him whom we serve is still alive and behind us.

Conclusion

Do not rely much on extended family members because they too has their own responsibility. Work hard on your own and never hesitate to give when ever the ball is in your caught and you have. God might be making was for you through your generousity.
