This article is meant to help you distinguish between healthy and unhealthy food in order for you to make the right choices while planning your diet.
UNHEALTHY FOODS
Unhealthy foods are basically nutrient deficient,they have no nutritional value. You can easily call them junk,of course that's what they are and I know that nobody will like to take junk into their body. Actually,truth be told,a lot of people love junk food. Maybe it's because of the way they're been packaged when we see them on the screen,they look very appealing and you might want to know what Pizza really tastes like when it is out of that box.
Junk food are loaded with unhealthy fats,artificial ingredients and unnecessary preservatives,all which can be very bad for your health on constant consumption.
HARMFUL EFFECTS OF UNHEALTHY OR JUNK FOOD
Obesity
Heavy consumption of sugar,calories and fats are prime factors of weight gain. As those unhealthy substances are accumulated,obesity sets in. Obesity gives way for other health risks like diabetes (type 2),joint pain, cardiovascular diseases(heart problems) and etc.Learning and memory problems
High intake of sugar and fats tends to suppress the function of the brain that helps in learning and memory functions. One who constantly deals on junk will definitely have problems with recognition and retention.Problem in the digestive system
Consumers of junk food usually have problem with overeating. They end up eating more than required due to fluctuation in blood sugar levels,this makes the brain to demand more food than normal and here comes digestion problem. The body cannot be able to digest on those fats and sugars you take in and that is a health risk.Skin problems
Foods with high carbohydrate and fat content can trigger skin problems like acne and pimples. Fast food like fries and pizza can cause itchiness on the skin and can make the skin look puffy.

- Tooth decay in the case of heavy sugar consumption
- Increased stress levels
- Eating disorders

Diet is just the kind of food someone usually consume. Therefore,balanced diet is a meal containing different varieties of food with adequate amount of nutrients necessary for good health. Balanced diet is the way to healthy living. A balanced diet contains food front the following categories:fruits, vegetables,dairy grains and proteins. Getting all that good stuff on your plate means you're eating right and surely you won't regret it.

- Prevents frequent occurrence of disease and helps to fight certain diseases

HEALTHY FOODS FOR YOU
- Eat more vegetables and fruits instead of meat.
- Add proteins such as poultry,fish, beans and nuts to your meals
- Use healthy oils while cooking e.g olive oil,soy, canola. Avoid food containing trans fat.
- Stay hydrated,drink a lot of clean water.
- Eat fruit salads and drink homemade smoothies
- Use milder methods of cooking your meat instead of frying e.g boiling,stewing or steaming
- Eat some seafood like salmon and sardines.
