Introduction

Today is SteemAlive Power2Soar contest, an activity that encourages people to convert their steem to Steempower which helps the individuals curation value and rewards. The importance of powering up Steem cannot be over emphasized. So in supporting the powerup initiative, I have powered up 500 Steem to arrive at 5000 SP. Here is a screenshot of my wallet before and after the powerup.

So for the interest of new people, here is a quick guide on how to power up Steem.

How to Power up Steem

1. Log in to your wallet with your Private Active Key
2. Click the small arrow beside your Steem balance and select Power up from the options that appear. (See illustrations below)

3.. In the new window that opens, type the amount of Steem you wish to power up and click the Power Up button.

4.. Confirm the transaction by clicking Ok.
Note: IF this is your first time, you will be asked to provide your Private Active Key. Copy and paste the key and then finish up by clicking Ok

Conclusion

Powering up Steem is a great way to enhance the value os Steem in the market. It also contributes to the growth of the community trail value.
