Introduction

Dear @steemitblog, I write to apply for Steemit engagement challenge season 4 on behalf of SteemAlive community. We have participated in the challenge for season 2. We have had some experience in this project and we are sure that given the opportunity to do so once again, we will make a valuable contribution to the 4th season of this challenge. This is our application, we are eager to introduce our community once again to you.

The Purpose of SteemAlive community

Our community was set up when Steemit was still an infant in Nigeria so to speak. SteemAlive community is fulltime into Steem Promotion. Right from day one, we have engaged in all forms of promotion including hosting various seminars, Radio presentations, outdoor promotional events and many more. The result of our promotion projects speak for itself. More than 90% of Nigerians active on Steemit now heard about it through us, or have benefitted from our mentorships and promotional campaigns indirectly. We are still doing promotion 100% till this date.

SteemAlive Community - a brief history

The community was formed on 12th July, 2020. @focusnow is the founder with a team of 5 members to help out with running the community. We started from a humble beginning, organizing seminars and creating awareness through other means such as Radio. We increased in numbers over time and have made the biggest impart on virtually any Steemian from Nigeria.

Our growth has been gradual, but sustained. We recently acquired the Orca status and continue to assist so many new users to learn bout Steemit and the opprotunity therein. We have bigger plans for the next forseeable future. As far as we have the resources and manpower, we will continue to promote Steem across Nigeria and beyond.

Our curation account is @steemalive

@steemalive is the account used by this community to support our members. We continue to power up much of our earnings under this account. Because of our concerted efforts to grow this account over the few years of our existence, we recently reached 50,000 Steem power of our own. We have set high targets for ourself because we wish to support our members to the best of our ability. The Screenshot below from Steemworld provides added insight to how we have used this account.

Our members have been so impressed by what we do, that they unsselfishly donate one post per week to assist the community. We call this project all4one. This has enabled us to do more power ups and carry out various promotional activities.

Having in excess of 70k SP, we are poised to continue growing our community account so that we will be able to support all our users both old and new.

@marajah and @samuel20 are in possession of the community posting key. The other keys are help by @focusnow. Our community keys have been properly backed up. In case of any data loss events, we can confidently retrieve the backups and continue running the community smoothly.

Current Policy on Engagement

Only few communities take engagement serious the way we do. We have launched and sustenained various engagement projects, and the high count our posts - especially the top 4 posts speaks volumes about the result we have obtained from our engagement projects. Some of our policy and projects on engagement are as follows:

1. SteemALive Post Promotion channels : Members are expected to drop links of their publications on this channel to promote engagement. They must however make two reasonable comments on other peoples posts before they can drop theirs.

2. Top 4 selections daily must engage: The 4 authors whose posts were selected are expected to support the other 3 nominees with engagement. This will enhance their chances of getting selected again.

3. 4Times7 is back: 4Times7 is a project we started 5 months ago. The project rewards those that meaningfully engage with the top 4 posts daily for the 7 days in a week. We use the community account to voted the comments under the top 4 post, after we have checked and confirmed they engaged with the top 4 posts. This has encouraged them to continue supporting the engagement project. You can see the supported users yesterday.

Helping Users improve their posts

Mentorship is something we have done from the first day till now. We have various channels of assisting our members to improve their post quality. Below are a few:

1. Weekly Classes We hold weekly classes every Tuesday 8.30pm. The aim of the classes is to teach our members how to do well on Steemit, including how to create quality content. Below is the banner of our most recent class.

2. Group Classes: The various team leaders run their own physical classes too. @ijelady in Uyo runs the weekly physical classes every Saturday at her office. They have been the most consistent. You can see her last class below:

3. Quality post by Leaders: The best way to show what a quality post looks like is by example. I as the admin publish quality posts regularly. Our mentorship classes has been so effective that people who came to join us not too long ago are producing great content. Consider the two publications by me and @luchyl:

Why we must be given this Opportunity

1. We grow: Few communities have been able to maintain growth both in recruiting people that have become successful on Steemit, having an active user population and building our Steem power. In fact on the latter, we just became an Orca few days ago. How else do you define growth?

2. All our admins are active and at least in club75: This shows that our admins are working hard to support all Steemit team projects including the clubs project. One of our admins @marajah is participating in club100.

3. We have been selected before: Our experience having been selected in season 2 gives us an edge over newcomers. We did not disappoint the last time out. We will not disappoint again. In fact, we will consolidate on the progress made last time, correct our mistakes and make the engagement challenge season 4 truly worthwhile

Conclusion
