Hi my fellow steemians, greetings to you all am back.I promised writing about this picture that I took on my way to Steemit office on my first day of registration.

Yes, I complained to you that this picture is making me look old. Due to farm work. I wasn't looking like this eight month ago.

How it all started

Normally the past farm works lived done. I shuffle between my stylist job and farm work.
So I do take a break between my job as a stylist and farming work.

But, this year was quite different. As at January and February 2021, I was still looking my pretty self, yes not that am extremely beautiful but am sharp. What actually, caused the drastic changes was that I had to close down my shop. And that was precisely, march 2020.

In order to travel down to Lagos, my younger sister invited me to come and help her to wean her baby of 1year & six month. She's a working class lady and won't be able to handle that. It was a great privilege to visit them once again after a very long time.

Actually, its been three years since I last visited my people in Lagos.

I got there on the 16th of March, 2020. And that was some few weeks before the corona virus struck Nigeria. Then came the lock down in Lagos from April in to July in Lagos. So I thank God I arrived before then.

WEANING BABY FAITH

Baby faith was brought to me where I lodged, a well spacious 3 bedroom apartment my immediate senior brother uses for an office and accomodation.
(Sense no go kill Igbo man for Lagos oh!)

My people, I settled down there like her mother. Next, her foods where brought to me, e.g milk, pap, cerelac, yogurt, fruits like oranges and water melon.

IMG-20210911-WA0010.jpg

Real foods too where brought e.g rice, beans, indomie, supergetti, feeding bottles and her pampers.

MY DAILY ROUTINE (for two weeks)

The first night with her wasn't funny. I bathed her, rubbed her powder and prepared cerelac for her. This would hold her tummy and make her heavy so she could sleep off.

I also played children's songs I downloaded from boom play for her. She slept off around 9:30pm only for her to wake up around 2am crying and vibrating to suck her mothers breast. (Maybe her normal routine).

Fellow steemians, I got up, poured hot water mixed with little cold water from her flask. Mixed little cerelac with enough milk into her feeding bottle and gave her.

If you all see the speed at which she grabbed the bottle he-en you would all laugh.

She was hungry. As you all know, breast milk does wonders than what she's about to face. But, she has no choice. After sucking she stretched the bottle and gave it back to me.It didn't take her long to doze off and she lied down again sleeping.

She wakes up around 7am in the morning and almost everyday. But I do wake up earlier than her to boil hot water for her and pour in her flask for bathing and mixing of her foods. Next, I would her pap and pour into her flask.

BATHING SERIES

I do put her on the potty to pee and poo after removing her night pampers but she would never do any of those there.

Secondly, I do use a small soft towel and soak it in warm water and salt and try to brush her little teeth. Just few of them and try getting to her tongue to wipe it as well.

This very one is a struggle oh! She shouts. Not even cry as if am punishing her. This was our morning struggles for two weeks.

Thirdly, she enjoys bathing sections, in fact, she plays with water and tries batching by herself.
I start with her head, face, washing and scrubbing gently till we are done.

When we are done bathing, I dry her body with towel apply her body with little palm kernel, and also rub powder on her face & body as well.Lastly, I would Robb little Vaseline on her bombom and wear her pampers and clean clothes. This part is also interesting because, she knows how to lie down flat on her back so I could wear her pampers and cloth.

EATING TIME

Morning's: we started with pap mixed with milk for her in the morning, gradually we moved to taking tea and bread, sometime as well I give her cerelac.

Afternoon: I prepare egg and spaghetti for her. She also enjoys fried eggs.At times I prepare beans mixed with crayfish for her. I do march it though for easy absorption.

She àlso enjoys Rice with oily fish stew like Titus or sardines. Sometimes I do prepare marched potatoes with fried eggs for her as well. She enjoys all the above and do eat by herself sometimes. But every where will be messy including her clothes.

I give her in between meals like: light foods biscuits, yogurts, chocomilo, water melon oranges and the least goes on depending on her wants and appetite.

AFTERNOON NAP

She enjoys afternoon nap for 3hrs at times four. But not until I back and pacify her.She showers when she wakes up.

NIGHT

At night I prepare her dinner and she also takes a warm bath. Her foods is thick cerelac to hold her tommy and allow her sleep deeply...

Fellow steemians, it was not an easy task but after two weeks she was good to go. She forgot breastmilk, felt at home and enjoyed her daily food. She no longer wakes up at the middle of the night and we all do enjoy our sleep.

Kudos to all mothers in steemit community.

Below is her picture:
1.enjoying her yogurt

  1. Just finished eating rice

Now coming back to me I really enjoyed myself as well. All those goodies was for both of us nah!

Besides, I do enjoy preparing delicious neaks for the entire family when am done with her.For instance, I cook rice, and make stew in the mornings or we all drink tea with bread and fried egg.

Hum-m this type of stew Ive not prepared it since I came back to my villa oh!.

See list of ingredients below:

  1. Fresh grinded tomatoes(very reddish) trust Yoruba's for the best ones.
  2. Fresh grinded pepper ( very reddish as well)
  3. Finely chopped onions. (Very big)
  4. Ginger & garlic (grinded as well) both helps with the immune system
  5. Curry and thyme (very little of each)
  6. Chicken and oily fish (Titus)
  7. Salt & Maggi to taste
  8. Groundnut oil (power oil or kings oil).

In my next post I'll teach you how I do prepare my stew with the above ingredients. Its quite different from the normal way you may know.

I aso don't eat garri but semo with nutritious soup unlike here.Meanwhile no scorching sun, no bending excessively in our farms and do take enough water.I exercise with baby faith to get few things from a nearby market.

No bleaching or toning, just a change of environment, little make up and a healthy diet.
I spent ten months with my entire family in lagos. It took me that long because of corona virus and the violent killing of innocent souls at lekki as a result of SARS wahala.

I came back middle of January 2021. But I couldn't get a shop before farming sets in.
So goes my quick transformation from fresh and clean look to my picture below:

Thanks steemians for reading. I really appreciate you guys.

I believe you all will help me get my shop and fair looks back... By reading my write ups, making comments, correcting me, and voting for me.
