Introduction

Warm greetings fellow steemians,
It is my pleasure to be back here again after a very long while of non-posting consequent upon a faulty, dysfunctional and problematic phone. I hope I meet you all in sound health. It's my pleasure to share with you how I spent my day on the 27th of February 2022. It was on a Sunday and the activities of programmes as it were organised by the Adventist student fellowship of University of Jos in plateau State Nigeria were awesome and funfare. We had picnic, we embarked on mountain climbing, get together/ potluck, and sing song service.

Morning Activities

I woke up in the morning around 6 a.m. said my prayers and prepared for the big day ahead. After which I had my bath,dressed up and headed for our meeting point which was one of our elders residence. We are to meet there before taking off to the mountain while there we waited for the rest to arrive before we took off to the mountain. Climbing the mountain was fun and strenous at the same time, we got to the place that was arranged for the picnic on top of the mountain and started the programme proper with an opening Prayer said by one of the elders. Following was a general breakfast, we had left home very early without most of us taking our breakfast. The breakfast compromised of palp, bread, doughnuts Personally I took pap and bread which was prepared by the church after which we commenced the afternoon program which included singspiration, symposium, playlet,and also some program organised by the singles forum. We were enlightened on how to fit in
the outerr world especially when seeking for life partner. Also we had awareness lecture on use of illicit drugs and substance abuse which is now rampant among youth and students. Time was given for questions during which we asked about the substance use and also illicit drugs substance Abuse. After that we shared ourselves into groups and games were played with each group given an assignment it was indeed a fun-filled event one of the best its kind to ever happen among the Adventist students fellowship in UNijos. We took a lot pictures while the program was ongoing. The primary purpose the the programme was to have an interactive session with natureas Organized by the family life ministry

Afternoon Activities

After all these which took place on the mountain we headed back to the elder's residence where we took off from and had our lunch. Descending from the mountain was quite easier than climbing because it was more enjoyable We were served varieties of foods ranging from natural drinks such as zobo drink, kunu, lemon drink and ginger drink with no additives and preservatives added all thse were naturally made and they served as desserts which paved way for the main food, rice and salad, gwote and different kind of swallo namely Iba, semovita, fufu and tuwo shinkafa/masara(rice and maize swallow). We wined and dined together as one big family and everybody was happy .

Evening Activities

Thse series of programs lasted till Evening. we had a lecture on intrepreneurship and small scale businesses. The presenter spoke about how to start up a business and how to get involved in little lucrative ventures and not to always look out for or wait for White collar jobs which are rare to come by nowadays. He also emphasized on skill acquisition like tailoring, catering, cosmetics making, event planning, etc he urged everyone to try to acquire and develope a skill do as to be independent because of how the economy is is not the same as how it was before after this lecture of intrapreneurship. Then a little refreshment was served meat from the barbecue (BBQ) and masa which is made from rice and maize we all ate and were happy. We had a little time chatting with each other because everybody was happy after the picnic and closing prayer was said and we all departed to our various destination all happily.

Conclusion

From the events that transpired in this day, I am forced to conclude that it is good to go out from our comfort zones and technologically sophisticated homes and go to the mountains and forest and rivers to experience the wonders of God in nature. This will lead us to appreciate the creative power of God the more. This day was very memorable to me and it was a wonderful time we shared together during the potluck. Most interestingly, I finally joined #club5050 by carrying our my first Power up. It is my desire to constantly grow my steem power as much as I receive regular support.
