THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPERLY RAISING UP THE BOY CHILD by @kanuprecious

INTRODUCTION

Children are generally precious gifts and should be loved, raised and cared for properly. No particular gender should receive some form of training, care and attention and the other ignored because of their gender.

The importance of raising the boy child properly can never be overemphasised. The boy child will grow up to become husbands and fathers in the future, they will grow up to become an integral part of the society tomorrow so it is of the essence that they should be taught some certain norms and values in order to grow up and become good husbands, great fathers and respected people of the society.

There are some things I will like to point out, these I have noticed are being ignored by some parents while raising their male children.

A MALE CHILD IS NOT SUPPOSED TO COOK, CLEAN AND WASH.
This is a very wrong statement that has become a norm in our society today. They say this in respect to the fact that the young man will get married and that will become the wife's responsibility.
There is no doubt that he might get married tomorrow, but the affairs of the home shouldn't be left to one person because of their gender. Also, lets look at this scenerio, there will be a time, a time in between leaving his parent's house and getting married. He may find himself with other young people, people who take tidiness seriously and if he doesn't help, he will be seen as a nuisance or a liability.
He should be taught at an early stage the importance of doing these things for himself in order not to be a burden to whoever he finds himself with.

SEX EDUCATION
Young females are often taught to preserve themselves, they are taught how to behave around men, how to dress in order not to attract abuse from irresponsible men. The young males in turn are often not being taught how to behave around women or how not to abuse women, how to wait for consent before having any form of sexual relationship with girls, hence the high rate of rape and sexual immoralities.

BEING A RESPECTED INDIVIDUAL IN THE SOCIETY
Becoming a respected individual can only be earned if you behave in a responsible way. I hear some people say "leave him, he's a boy, it doesn't matter" when clearly he is exhibiting some form or irresponsibility and disrespect. It is usually termed "a man's world" so they are allowed to behave just anyhow they want and still they will be accepted in the society, yes they will be accepted but not as respected and responsible individuals. Male children are to be trained in such a way that they will have a high sense of resposibility and respect, that way they will become respectable individuals in the society.

CONCLUSION

I want to really commend and appreciate parents who take their time to raise their male children the right way without minding that it's an man's world. Your children will grow and you will become proud parents of responsible and respected men in the society. However, ignoring these things and neglecting the rightful ways to raise boys is like a time bomb, ticking and waiting to explode at a given time.
