INTRODUCTION
Good evening all Steemians, glad to be back here with my post. I hope you all had a great day? Mine went well, as I joined some of my old coursemate to attend the burial of Late Mrs Joy Alice Nwanganga popularly called (UDU DECOS), the mother of one of my old course mates by name, Favorite.
As it is with our custom (Marketers Abia Poly Set 2017), when one of us is bereaved, we usually make donations to support the person, and also attend the burial once it's fixed.
Like the Bible said in the book of Ecclesiastics, "in everything, there's a time, a time to be born and a time to die". So Mama Alice has passed on and the only thing we owe her now is to commit her to mother earth, and we were there to give her the last respect.
The journey to Favorite's birth village wasn't so smooth as the road was a bit bad, also we had to stop a couple of times to ask for directions, but we got there in one piece.
I and some of my coursemates on our way to the burial.
The funeral service was conducted by Faith Tabernacle Congregation. It was a solemn service filled with heart touching funeral songs by the choir and words of exultation by the Minister.

When the funeral service ended, Mama's corpse was then carried to her place of rest. Mama's husband, Mr Nwanganga is still alive, but old and not too strong again. Seeing him so weak and teary as he followed his wife's corpse to be laid to rest, I couldn't help but feel so sorry for him and was imagining how he will cope without his wife, his better half, the woman he has spent most of his life with. Life indeed is a mystery. 🤔
After laying Mama to rest, Favorite, our coursemate came and welcomed us with all happiness. It was sort of a reunion as she hasn't seen most of us for years now. She took us to where we will be entertained. After that, we presented the support package to her. She was very happy and appreciated the gift, and thanked us for being with her and her family in their time of grief and wished us well too. After that we started journeying back.

While on our way back, I saw this beautiful duck with her ducklings and I couldn't help but capture it.
We had a safe and smooth journey back because we took another road which was better than the first one.
I'm glad I was able to attend the burial, which is in obedience to what the word of God told us ".....mourn with those who are mourning"
Thank you all and have a restful night.
Death isn't bad if it comes at the right time, as you said there is time for everything, I know she has graduate to another stage in life, you all should be happy for her.

@luchyl. Good reading from you, I commend you and your old coursemates for finding time to attend the funeral ceremony.
That is a good one from your old coursemates.
This is sad, but the place [funeral venue] looks orderly and the picture back ground is so beautiful. Looking at the picture of that duck and her ducklings puts smile on my face.
Please extend my heart felt condolences to FAVORITE
Best wishes.

Thanks for your kind words.
Yes, the funeral venue was well organized and peaceful. The songs too, though funeral songs were melodious.
About the duck and her ducklings, I was just happy seeing it because it's been a long time I saw one. They were bathing in the pool of water by the road when we were going for the funeral, and on our way back, still saw them, so had to capture them. My course mates were even laughing at me. 😂
