The Diary Game: How I Spent My Sunday Attending My Niece's Graduation At St Augustine's Model Academy, Aba Sunday 31/7/2022

Morning

Waking up strong, healthy and about is a thing of celebration because many didn't make it through the night. I couldn't help but thank and worship my creator, the awesome God.
After being in God's presence, I set out to prepare for the morning activities. In between I engaged some posts in steemalive, replied to WhatsApp messages and mails.
I did some chores, had breakfast of ọkpa and pap and prepared for Mass which was to start by 10:00am.
Today's Mass was a special one because it was the send forth celebration of the former parish priest of St Ambrose Catholic Church, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Casimir Ụzọsike(Ekwueme) and welcoming of the new Parish priest, Very Rev. Fr Jacob Ugbaja (Ọnwa) and other priests that will work with him.
After the Mass, the celebration started with a send forth / welcome address by the Parish chairman followed by a cultural dance by the students of Mercy Girls Secondary School, Omoba Road, Ogbor Hill, Aba.

Next was the presentation of gifts to the outgoing priest by the Parish Council followed by the out stations, various groups, families and individuals. He was full of joy and thanks as he gave his out gone speech.
My choir, 10:00am Mass Choir gave a special rendition for the out gone priest that got everyone clapping.

The band group was not left out as their melodious songs got everyone dancing to the Glory of God.
The mass ended around 13:24pm. Other activities followed.

Afternoon

The afternoon was all about my Niece's graduation ceremony. The event started round 2:30pm with the master of ceremony welcoming everyone and introducing the chairman, and special guests. The welcome address was read by the principal followed by a welcome / farewell songs by the SS 2 Students.
The graduands were all called upon from Nursery to SS 3 class and they all marched in, in grande style.

The graduation was full of activities; calisthenics, song presentation, recitation, dance competition, song renditions, etc. All these activities had the attendees emptying their pockets to appreciate their performances.
The highlight of the event was the special dance by the graduands, the lighting of candles and special prayers by the parents or guardians of the graduands.
The event was a colorful and exciting one, there were lots to eat and drink.
The rain also came prepared as it fell intermittently, but it didn't stop the celebrants from dancing and jubilating on their special day

Evening

From the graduation venue, I stopped by my parent's house and mom served me egusi/ukazi soup with garri.
I stayed with them till around 7:45pm before I left for home. Got home, took my bath and rested for the night.

Although the day was a handful of activities, this is just a summary of it
