Qualities of a genius

Being a genius doesn't entail having a high IQ or being smart. Although intelligence is one of the characteristics of a genius but it's not the only feature . In order to be recognized as a genius,one must ;be creative, always curious,have the strong desire to work hard and long until New ideas are initiated, be optimistic, know what you want and go for it,do things the way you think it should be done without seeking people's approval and finally be patient. Now the big question is this, are there people with such features or characteristics??? Yes of course, infact let's examine one of them by name "Mark Elliot Zuckerberg".

Early life

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg,an internet entrepreneur and philanthropist was born on 14 may 1984. He is one of these four children born to Karen and Edward Zuckerberg. His mother is a psychiatrist and his father a dentist. He has three sisters Randi,Donna and Ariella . They grew up in Dobbs ferry,New York in a Jewish household. While he was still attending Harvard University,he met a biology student named Priscilla Chan at a fraternity party and they started dating in 2003. In September 2010,they moved in together in Mark's rented house in Palo Alto and got married on may 19 2012. His wife underwent three miscarriages before giving birth to their first daughter Maxima Chan Zuckerberg in 2015. Their second daughter was born in August 2017.

Education

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg attendedArdsley high school from 1998-2000 and Philips Exter Academy from 2000-2002. He also attended the John Hopkins center for talented youths. He started studying psychology and computer science at Harvard University but did not finish as he left in 2004 to concentrate on Facebook.

Career/Achievement

As a teenager,he created games from images drawn by his friends. He built a software called "Zucknet" which transmitted information from there house to his father's office as his father worked from home. Mark worked with intelligent media group to create a music player called "Synapse media player". The player used machine learning to Know users hearing abilities. In his second year in the University, he created "Coursematch" an application which helped students to select their classrooms based on the preferences of other students and also helped them to organize study groups.
Shortly after, he built another program called 'Facemash". Facemash compares pictures of students and the best looking person can be selected from a collection of photos. But the site was shut down as it affected the school's network and prevented students from accessing the internet. It also violated student's privacy as some complained that their images were used without their permission.

Launching/Growth of Facebook

Facebook was officially launched on 4th February 2004. The name was inspired by "face book" ,a year book for students I American Universities. The operation of the site was limited to Harvard University at first until he along with his roommate's extended it to other schools. The platform kept growing until it became popular. As at December 2018, it had more than 2.3 billion active monthly users. It went public on in February 2012. Three months after the company went public it start selling out it's stock to the public. The social media platform can be used on electronic devices like phones, tablet and laptop with an internet connection. Majority of the company's income comes from advertisement and data access sold to third parties. Aside from Facebook, he has ownership stakes in other social media platforms like "WhatsApp", "Instagram", "Oculus" and Facebook messenger".

Awards/Recognitions

In 2007, he was recognised as the world's youngest self made billionaire. Also MIT technology review TR35 listed him as one of the top 35 innovators of the world under the age of 35 in 2007. In 2010,he was named as one of the 100 most influential and wealthiest person in the world. He became the youngest CEO at 28 in 2012. In 2016,he was also recognised as America's number one richest entrepreneur under the age of 40. In June 2016, he was tagged by Business insider as **one of the top 10 business visionaries creating values for the world. He got an honorary degree From Harvard University on 28th may 2018. He was listed as the 13th world most powerful person in 2018 and many more. source

what I have learnt from him/conclusion

Rome wasn't built in a day,it takes hardwork, persistence and determination, patience and resilience to achieve one's goals. Most importantly,if we must achieve our various goals we should learn to sacrifice our comfort zone and work hard.
