The dairy of how I spent my day on the 9th October, 2021.

I feel happy to share with you my experience on how it went down on Saturday when I went for my second dose of the covid 19 vaccine injection.

Morning

After much stress the last preceding the day, I couldn't wake up early as I use to, but when I woke up, checked my calendar, I saw I was supposed to go for the second dose of the vaccine, that was because I took the first dose sometime last month, I had to struggle to stand up from the bed. But after much, I stood up, dashed to the bathroom, and did the needful.
I had to wait for my friends that we are supposed to go together to get ready , after much time-wasting and all, we hit the road and in few minutes we are at the Stella Obasanjo hospital at Benin City.

We went straight to the ward where we took our first dose, the queue was much like when we came for the first dose, then we had to wait for almost 3 hours to get injected. In fact the crowd I saw that day changed my narration that people are not taking the vaccine. People are really taking the vaccine though not everyone, many still believe that the vaccine is from the pit of hell and those that took the vaccine are going to live for just 5years...... In fact, when I posted my pictures on my Facebook handle, you need to see people's reactions, one of them posted links to articles to back up his claims. Back to the gist..... It was my turn, and I proceeded to the table where they checked my cards to ensure that I have then the first dose and some other documentation that they usually do.

It was my turn to take the vaccine as I was called upon, before then I saw the young pretty lady that took before me, crying some people can fear injection sha.

After her, I sat down and the nurse brought out the vaccine and did the necessary stuff she needs to do, gave me the injection. I didn't feel any pain, in fact, I didn't even know she has injected me after which I waited for my friends to take theirs and that was it.

Afternoon

It was already some minutes past 2 pm, we were hungry because we didn't have our breakfast before we left for the vaccine, we bought some snacks and headed back home. On arrival we had to eat very well as advised by the medical personnel, gradually we started feeling the effects of the vaccine...

Some developed fever, me I just felt a little weakness, I couldn't open my laptop, my eyes were forcefully closing in sleep, I couldn't help it, I had to succumb managed to drag my feet to my bed.......

Evening

I woke up some minutes past 8 pm, I couldn't even stand up from the bed, I wasn't scared though because I expected it. I had almost a similar experience when I took the first dose, in fact to me, the first dose gave me more trouble compared to the second dose. I managed to stand up, then took a hot water bath, I felt a bit relieved though the pain on my left arm was still there, I ate and went back to sleep, and the following morning,

The pain wasn't all that much though it was still there, I just some painkillers to enable me to attend to some work on my desk. I checked on my friend to know how he was feeling, it was almost the same experience .....

In conclusion, I have taken my covid 19 vaccine, even though they are no guarantee that it protects one completely from the sickness as various variants of it keep sprouting but it will reduce the risk of developing serious illness if you contact the sickness and also it helps to protect people around you especially those at increased risk of severe illness when the contact the virus.

Now the big question: are you vaccinated? Or are still skeptical about the genuineness of the vaccine?
