Good day my fellow Steemians and the lovely people of the steemalive family.
I welcome you all to my blog.

Today, I'm taking part in the on going steemalive contest concerning Engagement

True, this contest is timely, as to the fact that it would help us see the importance of engaging on the post of our follow steemians and why we need to go through their post write up.
Let's find out first what engagement (Social) means, and then we'd talk about the importance of engagement on a post.

MEANING OF SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT

Simply put, Social engagement is the process of taking part in the activity of an online community.

Such activity involves you communicating with the community, individual or firm by commenting, re-posting or doing any other activity that could help promote the idea aired by the individual or Firm.

Here in the steemit platform, we don't just come to make the money, but we also get to learn and air new ideas.
So, just like any other social media platforms, steemit also requires post engagements.

Why?!
Let's go straight to its importance!!

IMPORTANCE OF ENGAGEMENT

We'd list out 4 good reasons to take part in post engagement on the steemit platform, and then we'd analyse it.

• Boosting post relevance
• Reaching wider audience
• Increasing community subscribers
• Encouraging the writer

Let's analyze them!

Boosting post relevance

When there are lots of comments, upvoting and resteeming in a post, such post could be seen as an important one and as such stand the chance of being among the trending posts.
When that happens, the relevance of the post grows.

You could wonder; "What would be my profit from that?! "

Well, the order at which the list is made is for a reason.
Let's find out the importance of someone's post relevance to you.

Reaching wider audience

When a post its placed as one of the trending post, such post is assumed to reach a much wider audience.
In this situation, 2 things happens.

First, such post stands a chance of getting more upvote.
Remember, as a verified member of the @steemalive community, that very individual who's post got more upvote must have joined the @steemalive curration trail.

True, he/she makes the money, but the community is also growing it's steem power.
That SP would also pay you off someday.

It's second importance is the next point.

Increasing community subscribers

When some individuals gets to see the post published by the members of the @steemalive community trends and gets much engagement and upvotes, they'd want to be part of the community.
Soon, those individuals would want to become a verified member.

You know what that means!
They'd have to join the curration trail and increas the community SP.

So engaging in others post is a win win for all.

Encouraging the writer

We all know what's involve in constructing and bringing a content to live.
It's not an easy task.

Most people goes on a research in other to give a valuable and original content.
They put in much effort.

What do you think would be the state of mind of an individual who has put in such efforts but didn't get to be appreciated for it?

Definitely, the individual would be sad and discouraged.

So, we encourage ourselves when we engage in a post.
