Man was created with the ability to communicate and socialize with his fellow man and this has lead to the formation of very close bonds between millions around the globe. I wonder how life would be like without someone other than our family members to share experience, ideas and troubles together. Damn would be so bad.......

I have a best friend as well, someone I adore, cherish, value and can faint for(I didn't say die oo) I met her when we relocated to ifa after Dad finished building our house, I call her my pal, paddy, better half, left breast, my armour, rare gem, soul mate and the list continues, it's my pleasure to officially introduce you to her.

With all amount of excitement, I officially introduce to you 👉Goodness Asuquo Essien, that's the name of my partner in crime. Goodness is the second daughter and third child in her family, she is a tall, slender being in her early 20s with dark skin and golden eyes of which I'm always jealous of, she is presently here with me and is blushing hard that's she's the topic for my today's post.

Goodness is an indigene of Ifa ikot okpon (another clan which belongs to ifa) but she doesn't live in her hometown. We both live at mbak road, Ifa Atai, although her house is a little bit farther than mine. She's an akwa ibomite but I keep wondering why she can't speak her mother tongue fluently.

Goodness AKA glitterati (that's her nickname, until now I haven't been able to find the meaning to that her name ooo, I've torn a huge dictionary because of that but I think it's from the word "glitter"🤣) is not married ooooo, but I'm expecting to drink some cups of wine on her head few years from now, the girl is growing.

Since she's not married, where will the children come from?? Not withstanding, I can't wait to be called aunty when she does the needful. I know the bridesmaid position belongs to me, so there's no need to panick.

till death do us part

Glitterati is a certified teacher, we work in the same nursery school, she teaches basic 1 while I handle nursery 1. Although she's a stammerer which sometimes make communication difficult, she's very passionate about her work and willingly disseminates knowledge to her pupils.

Goodness comes from a religious household who worship the true God, Jehovah. She is spiritually minded and very punctual to our meetings which are held at our Kingdom Hall here in Ifa. Goodness has decided to make the truth her own through baptism which will take place on 14 Jan 2023, this will further identify her officially as one of Jehovah's witnesses, I go snap tire on that day.

Goodness is a rare gem, she believes in this adage that "action speaks louder than words" which means that she doesn't talk much

Ohhhhh, I forgot to tell you that Goodness is an introvert unlike me that is an extrovert. She's always shy, reserved and only feels free with people she's well conversant with. She hates big gatherings and always feel like disappearing when we go to public places.

When we go out together, I do most of the talking because I'm the direct opposite of her, I can proudly say that I'm her mouthpiece but she isn't paying me the salary of which I'm entitled to. You know, I keep wondering how we became not just friends but best of friends.

She has occupied 80% of my life of which I'm proud of and I've come to realize that we can't stay without each others company, we've been friends for almost 8 years now.

I do really concur with this saying that "a friend in need is a friend in deed". Goodness has proven beyond doubts to be a true friend.

• She comes over to the house when she's free and willingly helps me out with the numerous house chores

• Every word that comes out to f her mouth are always seasoned with salt, no hate speech from her hence she influences me positively

• She's a good listener, she pays rapt attention to me hence I always derive this satisfaction that I have someone I can confide in

• Goodness is a good adviser and very thoughtful as well, her advises have been of great help to me

• She's also very supportive financially, when finally drained, my friend is always available to turn to

Although we do have misunderstandings and arguments as imperfect humans, we try to solve our problems and amicably. I'm sorry to say that my stubbornness is sometimes a disadvantage to me.

A letter to Goodness:
My heartbeat, I'm really sorry for all the headache I've caused you, you signed it remember. I bless the day I met you, I'm really sorry you ain't on this platform, atleast you would have confirmed if all I said is true. I pray you get a better phone, don't worry we'll do something about it together.

Friends are a precious gift we should always adore, people who look not only for our interest but our growth as well. People who can take risks on our behalf, people who stand as strong walls to shield us from the world's turbulent wind. Make good choices of friends and you won't regret it
