In my introductory post, I informed you that I reside in ABA, Abia State of Nigeria. I now want to tell you a little more about the city called ABA.
ABA is a familiar City in the world map. In fact ABA is the first in the list of cities in the world because of it's alphabetical arrangement. ABA is a metropolitan city and has two local governments i.e Aba South and Aba North local governments. Formerly it was Aba local government, but it was divided into North and South following the creation of Abia State in 1991.
ABA is a commercial hub and business is thriving well here. It can boast of some big and notable markets, prominent among which is the famous Ariaria International Market. Others are Ngwa Road market, Ekeoha shopping center, cemetery market, Umuehilegbu Industrial Shoe Market and so on.

ABA has about two notable government owned Higher Institutions. They are Abia State Polytechnic and College of Health Technology, Aba.
ABA is home to Enyimba International Football Club. They are really football enthusiasts, every street is occupied in weekends and environmental sanitation days with boys show of their raw talents on football. ABA has over a hundred football academies scared all over the city. Many of the Nigeria national team (super eagles) players are produced in Aba.
Besides that, the inhabitants of ABA can survive as a result of their ingenuity. An average person here can take advantage of even adverse situations to make a living. Among the many adverse situations here are Poor Infrastructures, Bad Roads, Hips of Refuse, Flood etc.
Something baffled me about the ingenuity of ABA people one day. Do you know that after swimming the swampy flood of ABA streets and roads, somebody is readily available across, to provide you water, soap and disinfectant to wash off the flood and continue your journey. Then you will pay him or her for his services. What a means to survive amid advance circumstances.

Then as that one is going on, some scavengers are busy inside the refuse dumps trying to fetch some items, out of which to make a living.
Inhabitants of ABA have retired to self help in order to make the roads manageable and accessible. Some boys take up the responsibility of filling the Pot Holes and solicit for support from motorists and other road users, thereby making a living out of it. This is not to say that the government is not helping matters. But as you know, government cannot fix everything at the same time.
So, do you care to pay a visit to Aba? From wherever you are coming, get to the Aba main park. Then pick a tricycle (a major means of transportation here) to your destined address. Some steemit members will be willing to receive, welcome and care for you within the period of your visit.
