Greetings to steemians all over the globe.A new day is here and another time to blog has presented itself.Engagement and posting had been our modus operandi.I am making my fourth entry in the ongoing contest.

I want to talk about sycamore plant. I know the name sycamore will ring bell to the mind of every christian.You remember that biblical Zacchaeus who climbed a sycamore tree inorder to see Jesus.That tree still exist up until this present time.

Sycamore

Sycamore is a plant of the fig family which produces a heart shaped leaf and a round sweet fruit.The fruit is widely consumed by many including we Nigerians.The fruit can be eaten raw or the seed cooked for consumption.All these depends on the preference of the individual involved.

Uses of Sycamore Fruit

•Serves as food
Like I mentioned earlier.Sycamore fruit is very tasty and could be eaten raw juts like star apple and other fruits.It can also be cooked and eaten as food.

•Making Beverages
The fruits of sycamore can be used for industrial purposes.This means that it can be used to produce beverages and drinks for human consumption.

Uses of Sycamore Leaves and Bark

•The bark of sycamore has medicinal purposes as it can be used to treat throat,chest related problems.The bark when cut has milky fluid which is used for the treatment of skin problems,burns and dysentery.The leaves is not left out.It can cure jaundice, diarrhea,burn and sour throat.

•Healthy Bone
The leaves of sycamore is used to maintain a healthy bone.Specifically,the dried leaf is suitable for this purpose.When the leaves are dried in a clean setting.It can then be cooked and the water would be taken for a healthy bone.

•Tooth Pain
The leaves of sycamore is good for the tooth.It can be used to curtail and ameliorate the effect of tooth pain.In other uses,it can also help to maintain a health gum.

•Treatment of Burns
To use it for treatment of burns.It is important to note that the leaves would have to dried and then boiled after which it would be applied on the affected area to aid quick and easy healing.The leaves also helps in wound healing.This is does not suggest that it would replace medical attention.The point been made is that is makes the healing process of wounds to be faster.

•Treatment of Oedema
Oedema us a situation where the parts of the body especially the feet swells die excessive accumulation of fluids on the tissues.This problem of Oedema can be cured by the sycamore leaf.

•Hair problems and Nausea
The hair is an important part of the body.It is a form of beautification especially to females.Any infection or problem on the hair is an affront to ladies.Here is the point.The leaf of sycamore helps to maintain hair growth,cures dandruff and scalp problems.Nausea which is defined as the tendency to feel like vomiting all the time can also be taken care of by the leaves of sycamore.

Conclusion

Sycamore plant has lots of benefit to man.It is one of the trees that the fruit,bark and leaves are all important.The fruits are sweet and edible while the leaves are bark have medicinal properties.The wood can also be used for furniture making.
