Introduction

Our community is 100% into recruitment - and we take engagement serious. So we are delighted to announce this brand new project called Welcome Home! The main aim of this project is to connect with newbies and give them a great sense of belonging by making a quality comment on their introduction posts. We believe that this will make the newbies feel at home when they see so many rich comments on their introduction. They will feel Welcomed.

Welcome Home - Why so important

Its really sad to see introduction posts that have very few comments. Its equally not encouraging to see that most introduction posts have only template comments usually dropped by the greeters in Newcomers community. It really makes Steemit as a platform look cold to the new user, and lacking any sign of engagement or serious activity. So with this Welcome Home project, we will support newbie introduction posts with unique and rich comments so that they feel the vibe we have here.

Besides making a great first impression, our quality engagement with newbie introduction posts will teach them right from the beginning that engagement is a requirement for success here and should be prioritized. That is the reason we have created this project.

Kicking off with Food4thought

You remember our Steem Promotion project - Food4thought - which kicked off 2 days ago? We are delighted to announce that 6 new users have already made their introduction posts. So now would be such a great time to kick off a newbie engagement project like this. So for this project, we are starting with newbies recruited from that project, and all newbies that have been recruited in SteemALive community this week. So later in this post, we will drop a link of all of them, plus other newbies that joined us this week, so that you can support them with quality engagement.

Welcome home - how we will run this project

Starting from this first post, we will make one post each week. We will list all the newbies that were recruited through our community. We will then encourage members to drop rich comments on them. As new users come in, we will update the post and notify our members so that they can visit them and and engage with them. So here are the newbies that we have so far from the Food4thought Project.

A note on quality engagement

We have educated our members severally on what constitutes quality engagement. However, we will still remind you of the following:

• Short comments like 'Welcome to our community', 'You will love it here', 'I like your post' and other ones like these are not allowed

• Make sure your comment is meaningful. you can suggest one or two things a newbie will need to succeed, or something that has helped you succeed.

• A good comment can be a reply some parts of the introduction post. If there is something you like about the story, reply it directly. Engagement is not just one comment. Try to strike up a conversation. Be creative

• It is not great to overwhelm the newbie with a very long comment. It can seem confusing instead of engaging. While your comments should not be short, it should not unnecessarily be too long.

Before this time, SteemAlive community has always taken engagement serious. So those that support this project will be supported by the community.

What to do after engaging with a newbies

Drop the link of the Newbies introduction post you commented on. We will reward you based on your activity. However, those that engage meaningfully with the newbies we listed here will receive some Steem at the end of the week. We will also give them maximum booming support, and some curation trail votes on their posts.
