Hello @steemalive and @steemitblog, it's my pleasure to bring to you Lagos City Report for the just concluded week. We had a couple of acticvities within the week, so follow me gently as i take you guys around my report.
Basically there was no new recruits last week, though i had a couple of prospects who promised to signup this week we are in.
Retention
In a bid to retain city members and keep them active, our Lagos telegram channel is been doing a good job. I drop daily useful updates for everyone to participate in the happenings on steemit. @ammyy had also been doing a great job in fetching contest links from all the communities to relief member users of the stress of going to search for contests themselves. Currently we are about 69 participants in our telegram channel as seen in the below screenshot.

We Attended @illie-ella's Mum's Burial
One of us @illie-ella lost her mum who had been sick for about 9 months and finally went to be with the Lord. The burial was on Friday 11th of June 2021. We had to go be with her and encourage her as our fellow steemian. I made a post earlier seeking for support from anybody that cares to support her, and i am grateful to @steemalive, @bright-obias, @reminiscence01, @phenomenal1052 and @talktofaith who responded to the support call. We were able to give her a condolence support worth 88 steem. The below was the burial poster.
The burial was scheduled for 10am, but i couldn't meet up with the time due to some other schedules, but i arrived when the corpse had been taken to the burial ground for laying in state.
At the burial ground before laying her in state
After the laying in states, we went for the burial reception, where burial attendees were entertained. We also had some of our Lagos steemians who attended the burial, i was so glad seeing them around. The below picture is some of them.
@boobee, @talktofaith, @ritachinwe & @analee
We were not the only ones in attendance, though other persons did not take pictures.
The total persons that attended the burial were...
@talktofaith
@boobee
@analee
@ruthjoe
@ritachinwe

The reception was done in Festac Park Lagos Nigeria, the below pictures are the burial reception ceremony.
After spending a couple of time in the reception, we had a couple of pictures together.

We also had a picture with @illie-ella, after which we had to be on our way home.

Our Plans
Monthly Meetups:
After our first meetup last month, i discovered that it is necessary to be holding offline meetups at least once per month, since everyone stays in a very far distance. So our next meetup for this month will be coming up on Sunday 27th June 2021. This is going to be our norm henceforth. I am already working on our banner and flier for these meetups.
Running a social media sponsored advert.
We are kick starting this project today, i had already sent money to @focusnow to help me run the ads today. And we expect to have in-flocks of newbies from this advert. The essence of the ads is to reach out to a wider range of users in the city of Lagos, thereby taking steemit to our grassroot.
Getting A Steemit Training Center/Office:
This had been one of my priority since i became a city co-ordinator in @steemalive. I had been making serious moves on getting the center which i believe will be ready soonest.
@steemalive, these and more are the plans we have for Steemit in Lagos City.
NB: If you are a Lagos City Steemian and your name is not included in the above compiled list, please indicate in the comment section, or chat me on discord or telegram via @talktofaith.

Good job @talktofaith. Thanks for always updating us through this report. May the soul of the departed rest in peace. Too young to go though.
