CONSTRUCTION OF FISHING GEAR (SEINE NET)

INTRODUCTION

Honourable greetings to special species @steemalive.
I count it a privilege as I'm availed this opportunity to share my daily experience.

As a SIWES/IT student, every time of my day is already numbered. All the days have been fixed with practical class appointment. You come back from school today feeling very exhausted after a very hectic section. Don't feel relaxed yet, because tomorrow is going to be another day which you can't escape.

Lying almost livelessly on my bed, thinking that the night would last forever. Little did I know that it was already 6 o,clock in the morning.
A wonderful day the Lord has made for us to be glad and rejoice in it.

There was no to for further delay, so I said a little morning prayer, pushed up, refreshed my breath, straight to the shower and off I zoomed to the school.

Our class at this stage as SIWES student is not in a regular class room but in an environment that would facilitate practical learning.

since my discipline is fisheries resources and aquatic management technology, my learning center now was fish farm.

I arrived school fish farm at exactly 7:49am.

Can't believe I was the first person. I went straight and took attendance, then sat back to glance at what we have done already while I wait for others to come.

Our pond today according to the time table is fishing gear construction. So by the time every body had came to the farm, we then kicked off with the activity of the day.

The lecturer came with a whole rap of net from where will cut out the one we will use for the practical.
Procedures...

CUTTING OF NET

we held the net at different edges to make sure the net do not entangle and also to have a straight cut.

FIXING OF HEAD AND TAIL LINES, FLOATER AND SINKER

These lines are used to tie the net on poles that will serve as anchorages when you are setting/positioning it in the water body.
It is also on thesame lines that you attach your floater on the headline and sinker at the bottom line.

NET NEEDLE

This is a needle used for amendment and stishing of fishing net in cases of tear.

CONCLUSION

At the end of the day, we were able to come up with a properly constructed seine net. Then we decided to catch little cruise by taking a selfie with my colleagues...
