Hello Steemaians, as we celebrate cancer day worldwide today, we should always remember to make our health our priority and be in tune with our body and how to prevent some of these of the causes of cancer.

2021 – the ultimate year of the ‘I Am and I Will’ campaign – shows us that our actions have an impact on everyone around us, within our neighbourhoods, communities and cities. And that more than ever, our actions are also being felt across borders and oceans. This year is a reminder of the enduring power of cooperation and collective action. When we choose to come together, we can achieve what we all wish for: a healthier, brighter world without cancer. Together, all of our actions matter. Cancer is celebrated worldwide on the 4th of February in commeration to families and Victims of cancer. The worldwide theme is #IamandIWill is a three year campaign, with 2021 being: Together all our actions matter. World Cancer Day is observed to raise awareness about prevention, detection and treatment of the disease. The aim of celebrating it, is to inform and encourage people on its prevention, early detection and treatment. Some believe it is a death sentence but it is actually not if detected early and ungoes treatment to eliminate it and goes into remission. Breast, Prostate and lungs cancer are the most common type found in both male and female.

On this day, hundreds of events and fundraisers take place around the world each year, to bring individuals, communities, and organizations together in hospitals, schools, businesses, markets, community halls, parks, etc. to campaign and deliver the powerful reminder that those hit by cancer are not alone, and we all share a responsibility in reducing the global impact of this disease.

One major uniqueness of Cancer is that each cancer has its own colour to be able to associate with a specific type of Cancer and its community. The colors and symbols are used to mark a specific type of cancer and promote the fight against it. For example, the orange ribbon is for creating awareness of cancer in children, while the pink ribbon is globally associated with breast cancer awareness. As a symbol of hope for patients and survivors, the daffodil flower is used by the American Cancer Society for a future where this life-threatening disease no longer exists.
The colors for the most common types of cancer include:
Lung cancer: white
Brain cancer: grey
Breast cancer: pink
Liver cancer: emerald green
Lymphoma: lime green
Prostate cancer: light blue
Stomach cancer: periwinkle blue
Bone cancer: yellow
Leukemia: orange
Colon cancer: dark blue. To name but a few.

MAJOR CANCER TREATMENT
*Surgery: The cancerous cells (tumors) are removed in mass to eliminate every chances of the cancer.
*Chemotherapy: These are drugs used to kill cancer cells.
*Radiation Therapy: This kind of therapy uses x-rays, particles or radioactive seeds to kill cancer cells.
*Targeted Therapies
*Immunotherapy
*Hormonal Therapy: This kind of therapy is used to treat cancers that are fueled by hormones such as breast, prostrate, and ovarian Cancer.
*Cryotherapy: This uses very cold gas to freeze and kill cancer.

MAJOR EFFECTS OF CANCER TREATMENT
*One major effects of cancer treatment especially from chemotherapy is the loss of hair.
*Anemia
*Appetite loss
*Bleeding and bruising ( Thrombocytopenia)
*Constipation
*Diarrhea
*Edema( Swelling)
*Fatigue
