(edited one time after the flashy gif lol)
lol why would the chinese government care about an insignificant little puddle of mud with a few 100.000 dollar whales like steem ?
that's absurd ...
eos/block.one announces Voice / Justin Sun says :"i got something for ya" ... Steemit SELLS OUT ... lets maybe not forget all that ,
the same 10 people and the company that have been dictating what defines 'good content' and who's allowed to make a buck here get their ass handed to them with the same tricks they have been using from the start ?
i didn't come in here with play-money, i came in here to get some and since day one the protectorate has been very clear about who da boss.
i for one welcome the disruption of the stalemate, no matter what it brings
who the hell thought a billionnaire would come in here and dump a billion to get nothing in return ?
they sold it, its FFA btw on exchanges and i have never seen any proof that witnesses don't upvote themselves with 100.000 of the 1.3 million (mostly un-used) accounts ...
you've always been great , and a very few other people i can think of but mostly what i call the protectorate has been nothing but shit to me here
if i want REALLY good content i can think of dozens of places , what i personally want is someone who can bring dollarvalue to my stake
and the others clearly couldnt ,it was nothing but 'a pension fund '(for 20 people at most) , and now its open death-match , Sun wins ... he either takes over or the place tears itself apart :)
why is everyone so surprised and naive about this ?
as for that government thing , i am very much convinced zero governments have anything to do with it
this is Ned vs. Larrimer
and Justin vs. Block.One
for once a guy with money comes in here and does nothing but what the system allows and is programmed to do and all i hear is OMG our 20 leaders lose their place
no offense to you, mate, but i doubt Xiao has anything to do with it ...
this is disruption , personally i couldnt have asked for more in this stale mud pool ,lol
why don't we just wait 'n see , its not like anyone here can do anything
and once you get gov't involved
they won't go away
you know that
I'm surprised at your reaction actually, if someone like that dandude downvotes you you apologize and now you're actually on fire ...
its way too early , and resistance is futile,
- it's open source
- in four years NO ONE has taken steps to switch or fork and left ALL the development to steemit
- its been the same ten people handing out who gets to do what since the start
- they are selling communities (which was on the table when i signed up three years ago) as the next new thing
- its an endless list
something's finally happening ... steem value can hardly go down deeper (unless the current whales make the same move they did when they dashed it below $2 , lets not forget no one but steemwhales was involved in that either)
something is actually happening, my first reaction on the first post that 'nothign was gonna change' was "i dont believe that for one second" and also "boring" ...
whoever came here to escape government and then submits to the rule of 1 company and 10 people (you can scrap number 11-20) i feel is a bit delusional as most governments have a lot more people de-centralized over a lot more instances
and so and such
well ...
i broke my vow of weekday silence then :p
what can go worse than steem at 12 cents , it was there already ... the network is here, anyone who wants it for the content can just post the content
i'll burn in steem-hell for this but the current situation ?
...
the self-righteous who have been in control get their ass handed
... did i say yet that
cos
they pissed enough on me
im not your daddy or your brother or anything but i would serioulsy not go shouting at the devil there, are you sure you want that kind of involvement with you as a subject or whatever they call it ? defendant ? it's never gonna be worth the trouble for what you get and if you think its the gov't , i really think its private,
ned -> dan <- ... maybe Justin Sun knew that (its not like its a secret , you can read EVERYTHING here in public lol) and needed something against Voice , Ned sees ally against Dan , his old commilitone who he desperately NEEDS to check or beat (i dont know how these CEO-types think, but i can get an idea, i tend to call them competitive psychopaths)
In comes the billionnaire , deals are made and then it turns out the guy with the wallstreet money actually doesnt wanna be on the sidelines after paying ?
this is just business, man, all neo-chains are big business, and steem could be part of that now
or not , maybe the man just wants to wreck it into the ground
it would be , business-wise, not such a bad move to take out the small-fry first so they don't accidentally stab you in the back while taking on the big ones (ETH - EOS in this case, i presume, who would be his actual 'rivals')
however !
it would make even more sense to pick up something that already exists AND has (albeit beit a very small) crowd and work that into your major campaign (we're talking REAL big money here on the major centralized chains , i say centralized because all of them ARE , all three , and so is steemit, it already was ,- centralized over a small group of people , its nothing like BTC or LTC )
so, you take that over and work it into your own campaign, so you don't have to build up something from the ground combined WITH a place that would already potentially have a certain enmity towards larrimer , and if not the crowd, then certainly the chairman lol
that would make a lot more sense : hence , mister Justin Sun would prefer something that works , hence there is no actual danger to the chain and
since everyone 'just wants good content' the rest doesnt matter then i suppose
mistakes he made .... aaah hahah , well its my firm conviction that he never even thought seriously about steemit until the day VOICE came up with the bru-ha , b/c otherwise
if i were a genius billionnaire, handpicked by Jack Ma himself who himself crawled up from the very mudpits to the top , mostly by hand in the beginning , to get a serious education and stuff, i wouldnt be too much of an idiot so
if i wanted to take over and knew the place after some research, i would have been positioning witnesses for a LONG time before i , myself , come in with some millions dollars or something to play upvote-maecenas and also the paladin-of-good-content at the same time ... that would be like total sun tzu and a flawless victory without ANY resistance, you know how people here revolve around big number accounts dangling for a vote
but he didnt, he came in fast and hot so we got wildfire
at any rate
for all i'm concerned, it NEEDED disruption
and from my p.o.v. it couldnt get much worse, YOU might be a nice guy, but most people here simply grind without caring , or are very much NOT nice guys, or simply don't have a clue
i should
instead of (lol yeah) breaking that vow of week-silence, do some work around the house
debunch them panties man, someone like you btw doesn't need to be with the in-crowd there, you are perfectly capable as a community builder
we shall see ... you got all those real projects in colombia, i mean this cant mean too much, right ?
or you can take another angle : if you care about the platform , not about the current status quo : you might as well side with the guy with the billions lol
yes ill burn in hell , ofcourse, but im already there for way too long, im not sure ill notice the difference
lot of people in china btw
if all of them buy 1 steem :)
i relly gtg
dont lose sleep over this, without it i dont it was going anywhere anyway but a small pension fund for 10 or 20 people
Would you also post this? Very valuable comment, I'm going to try to unfairly sum it up here:
Shit was already bad
And I agree with that. I am still cautiously optimistic that the shakeup could have positive long term effects, just not sure by which path we get there. (and to your point, I have little confidence the old path was going anywhere other than some hostile take over) In general, I want to build things that are not possible without blockchain, not just support dice apps.
Here is a paragraph from today's post, would love your feedback.
