"A American Silver Eagle apareceu em 1986 como parte do programa American Eagle Bullion. Este programa foi autorizado pelo Congresso em 1985 para produzir moedas de ouro e prata com seu peso, conteúdo e pureza garantidos pelo Governo dos Estados Unidos.

O desenho da Silver Eagle é tirado do meio-dólar Walking Liberty. Esta moeda circulou nos Estados Unidos de 1916 a 1947. Foi desenhada por Adolph A. Weinman e é considerada uma das mais bonitas moedas americanas. O reverso da Silver Eagle, mostrando uma águia heráldica, foi desenhado por John Mercanti especificamente para esta série."

Todas as Silver Eagles pesam 1 onça (31,1g) com pureza de prata de 99,93%.

A tiragem de 2004 foi de 8.882.754 unidades.

Eu tenho algumas Silver Eagles, mas esta é a única que foi encapsulada. Claro que não por alguma companhia de gradação de moedas, mas eu gostei do fundo e decidi mostra-la a vocês.
