(Back on) The Road to 10,000 SP

I think that it was in the run-up to Christmas last year that I set myself the goal to reach 10,000 SP.

I already held around 6,500 SP and was trundling along putting the odd post up here and there. No real commitment.

But there was something that stopped me pushing through with my goal.

It was the worsening mood here. The Steem community was in a downward spiral. And I couldn't see a quick way out for it.

Long established Steemians were starting to leave or at least stopped posting. I am not sure if it was partly due to the effects of HF21 but a lot of the larger dolphins/Orcas also started to drift off - perhaps focusing more on (increased) curation.

But all in all, the mood here was not good.

Fast forward to today and the buzz is starting to return. Not just on Steem but in the wider markets. With the market cap busting through £300bn and Bitcoin hitting $10,000, it all seems like the time is right (again).

Like this is just the beginning (again).

So I return to my goal of 10,000 SP with renewed vigour. Although just as I start to dollar-cost-average in, the price starts to shoot back up (over 28c at the time of writing)! One of today's biggest risers - doh! It was 12c just a week or so ago. Shoulda, woulda, coulda!

This is where the fear and uncertainty starts to kick in (again).

But I remind myself of where this blockchain has been both in terms of price and levels of development. We're so much farther ahead than the last time around. And above all, I remind myself how much I use and enjoy this blockchain.

So I will continue to invest both time and money to reach my goal.
