Sometimes it is easy to overlook a piece that is part of the foundation of what is being build. While it is easy to get caught up in the excitement of bigger releases, the grunt work is often where the dividends come from.
There is no doubt that Steem is a complicated platform. Newer people arriving have a difficult time in learning how things work here. As time passes, the complication only grows as more is added. People who are confused tend not to stick around.
Steemleo went out to address this. Yesterday, it announced the release of its Frequently Asked Questions page. This might not see like much since most sites have this feature. However, I believe it is an absolute treasure chest for Steem.
The page is obviously catering to those on Steemleo. That said, when reading through it, the information transcends just that site. It is applicable to every tribe along with Steem in general.
Ease of use is one of the biggest challenges facing the cryptocurrency industry and I believe that Steem, through this release, just got a bit less complicated.
Ideally, this is a page everyone bookmarks and shares with all newer people. It would be great to post it in all the "Introduce Yourself" posts as a way to help people along.
One of the first things we find is "What is Steem". This offers a brief description of what Steem is and how Steemleo interacts with it. Of course, this information applies to every tribe or application built upon Steem. For those of us who are here a while, this seems like common sense yet, to newer people, it is part of the learning curve.
Here is another important factor that could guide newer people. Again, we see this tilted towards Steemleo yet any tribe that is claiming accounts will be able to do this. At the same time, it is also following the pattern of Steemit.com.
Obviously, anyone who is already on here has an account so getting one is not required. Yet, to have the information out there on a site as one is scrolling through can be helpful.
This next section is getting into the meat and potatoes of the platform. Many are not sure how token rewards work, especially when they first hear about STEEM, SBD, and then all the SE tokens. In a couple months, we will likely see SMTs added to the mix, furthering the confusion.
The entire industry is plagued by the fact that the general population does not understand how tokens work, especially a reward system like Steem. Providing a basic outline of what takes place is helpful. At the end of the day, though, a thorough understanding is not required since people do not really grasp how the monetary system works anyway.
Nevertheless, a big of clarity will go a long way.
This is one of the most valuable pieces of information in my opinion. This section brings up the use of keys and the Private Posting Key. It discusses how important it is to secure your keys and not let them fall into the wrong hands.
It also discussed how to use Keychain which is a way to keep the information in one's browser and not submit it to an outside application. What is great about this is that there is a link to a video which discusses how to use it.
The final piece is how to create a blog post. Here we see something that applies to all tribes as well as Steemit.com.

Getting people started is often the biggest obstacle to growth. It is impossible to know how many did not stick around simply due to the complexity of the system. Having things explained along with a few videos is of great assistance.
I would say about half of what is posted on the Steemleo FAQ page is applicable to all of Steem (or a large portion of it). It covers many of the basics which we often take for granted. Since it is difficult to get feedback to questions when new, this could be a resource to help guide people to give them the answers.
One of the biggest steps to expanding a platform is having the documentation to assist people. This goes both for developers and users. Having a repository where people can go to get what they need in terms of information is vital. I feel Steemleo is starting to provide that.
Here is the link to the page itself.

Looks great man. Didn't know you could integrate your own token here. I thought that was only possible once SMTs are launched. Would you or someone be able to help me with creation and integration of a token on a mag I publish. Happy to pay for the service if it's not exorbitant :)

Hey @sidsun, there is a secondary token protocol on Steem, which many projects (like Steemleo) are currently using. We’d be happy to help you out under our Leoservices branch. When SMTs are eventually launched, we’ll also have systems in place to move certain projects over to the SMT protocol if the project owners wants that change.

Whenever you go on some web, platform, game, etc, you always look like the who we are ... or the FAQ section... so its basically a default thing expected by users ... adding it will do a great job for the first comers.
P.S. Nice thumbnail :)

Yep and now it is part of Steemleo. Of course, I feel it extends past just Steemleo and provides people with basic information about Steem.
Yes my compliments to the artist on the thumbnail.
