Tell Your Story#20 || A Rift With My Best Friend.

in hive-168072 •  20 hours ago  (edited)

One afternoon, I realized that my friend, Mary has not been online for the past few days. I thought of texting her on WhatsApp but my message wasn’t delivered so I called her line and it was switched off.
What do I do? I texted her boyfriend and the young man promised to extend my regards to her. I expected Mary to call me but she still didn’t so I called her mum too.
I’m not at home right now but as soon as I get home, I’d tell her to call you, her mum responded. I waited for days hoping that my friend calls me but she didn’t.

I called another friend of ours, Aminat to know if Mary called her and it was a positive answer. It means that Mary missed Aminat’s call and literally called her back but ignored my calls and all my efforts to reaching her.
What can make my friend ignore me this much?, I asked myself.
I got very angry and made up my mind not to ever call her again. I didn’t wish her a happy birthday, stopped calling and even deleted her number.

My boyfriend, Smith wasn't really cool with what’s going on between the two of us so he asked me to text her so I can clear my mind off it. I texted her and made her realize that I tried reaching her so many times but she could not even call back for once. I was so angry that I started to shout on phone because I disliked the fact that I haven’t spoken with my friend for months.

Babe, it’s not what you think. I was only opportune to call Aminat back. I’ve been on the sick bed for months and I rarely talk to people. My mum didn’t want to stress you and that’s why she didn’t tell you about my health including my boyfriend, Mary said.

I screamed on phone because I never knew my friend wasn’t feeling fine. I felt bad for saying all I said to her because all I had in my head was that she deliberately didn’t pick my call. At the end, I had to go check on her at the hospital and waited two days. It was a serious ailment but she eventually felt good.

What did I learn from this

We never can get angry at someone whom we don’t know his or her condition. Look at me getting angry here not knowing that my friend isn’t feeling too good. I wasn’t happy with myself.

If you don’t know the situation someone is in, don’t get angry at them.
We all are dealing with life in different aspects and I never can tell what you may be dealing with. Before you get angry at me, wait to hear from me first.

I hereby invite my friends @joan-na and @ruthjoe to take a part of this contest.
