At women's forum, hfn

Hello Gorgeous ladies!
Welcome to my diary. I woke up this day filled with gratitude to the Almighty God for life and preservation. It was a Wednesday morning, and I got up to prepare for the hfn programme: A business seminar for women.

Wednesday, 24th April was a beautiful day full of expectations of the values to be received. I was eagerly looking forward to how the day unfolds at the Women's forum organized by the HFN- healthcare federation of Nigeria.

We arrived in a coaster bus around 10am. We lined up to confirm registration and take attendance. At the registration point, each us were given sourvenir jotter and pen. Everyone in attendance are in one area of the healthcare sector: medicine, surgery, pharmacy, nursing, medical lab science, etc.

The programme started on a beautiful note with an opening prayer, followed by the welcome remarks given by Dr Pamela Ajayi, the president of hfn.

And highlighted ways to use digital marketing : blogging, search keywords, newsletters, email marketing and several others. He concluded with a simple step-by-step guide on how to begin using digital marketing for healthcare.

We went for tea breakfast at the dining area. We were served small chops, stickmeat and either coffee or beverage. I went for coffee. The meal was really great. After 15 minutes we returned to the hall.

Another speaker spoke on the financial aspect of healthcare business. It is important to start with keeping records. In healthcare business, profitability improves quality of healthcare given and it ensures sustainability of the healthcare business. Profit was defined as income greater than expenses, and it is a measure of growth. It is pertinent to control expenses and to optimize income. His lecture was quite interesting, and interactive.

The next speaker talked about the legal aspects. He explained the importance of having a lawyer work with us as we start our individual healthcare business. He talked about registration with Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, the organization responsible for registering businesses and companies.

He talked about meeting the requirements of the specific professional body organisation, following their regulations. He advised that it is better to register as a corporation, this means your business is a separate entity from you, rather than just registering a business name, just because the latter is cheaper. But it is better to go for the former as it has more advantages. He emphasized the CAC regulations and that failure to comply with the regulations of CAC can lead to deregistration. So, when we go into our healthcare businesses, we must take heed to comply with the regulations.

It was indeed an impactful seminar for women in healthcare business. Questions were asked at the end of each session. It was quite educative. We went for lunch at the close of the event. It ended with a closing prayer and photo session. There were varieties of food: jollof rice, fried rice, porridege, moinmoin, salad, swallow, vegatables. I chose poundo swallow with vegetables and fish.
