Hey! you are welcome. Let’s talk about cereals. Who doesn’t like cereals?

When I like something so much I’d always use the statement imagine the world with that thing like “imagine the world without cereals “. Am sure there would have been chao especially in the world of children.

Alot of people especially adults may not value cereals even though some do but am sure that in the world of children if there wasn’t cereals, they would all be carrying their placards and protesting in the streets that something they do not know about is definitely missing in their lives and that would be cereals. Hahaha.

Cereals had come to be a very integral part of our lives for both the young and old especially for breakfast. That moment you wake up in the morning and need something to keep you up and going and yet you need it to be light at the same time, nothing fulfills this satisfaction more than cereals.

For me cereals tend to come in more handy at other times of the day more than breakfast. I can’t remember having my cereal in the morning rather I do afternoons and most times at night because I prefer to eat something light than heavy in the night and that’s where my cereal comes in.

My Golden morn cereal

For example this night, I had to eat cereal for dinner. I had golden morn and milk. And I must say I enjoy eating my cereals at night cos it makes me wake up lighter. Knowing that late night eating isn’t good.

There are many types of cereals my favourite been the cornflakes and golden morn. Talking of the cornflakes, just like the name implies, it’s made from processed corn. And it’s best taken with milk even though sometimes I take it chocolate too or a mixture of both Depending on which am craving per time. Cornflakes have very amazing health benefits and it’s a healthy choice for breakfast.

Corn flakes is made flakes of corn that’s roasted and it contains sugar, it’s high in fructose syrup and contains malt flavors. It contains calories, Caborhydrates and sodium and some acids which are good for health such as the folic acid which prevents defects in births and helps the body in new blood cells production.

There’s actually high content of artificial sugar in cornflakes and ofcourse we know that artificial sugars have no nutritional benefits hence we need to be careful how often we consume it to avoid weight gain and risk of obesity or additional tooth decay problem caused by too much sugar consumption.

Some people consume cornflakes with extra artificial sugar as sweetener and this is not healthy. Too much of it’s consumption can actually lead to risk of exposure to diabetes for people who are prone to it because it’s high in glycemic under food with high glycemic index and can increase the insulin level of the body hence can cause type 2 diabetes.

Cornflakes can be taken alongside milk and fruits and this helps the metabolism of the body and can reduce snacking. There are other categories of breakfast cereals one can take as a way to add variety and golden morn, oats meals and wheat flakes are also included in this beautiful breakfast cereal options.

When am not doing my cornflakes, I do golden morn a lot which I also enjoy with milk and it’s also loaded with many health benefits. When next you are thinking of a quick and healthy breakfast, think cereals.
