The subject of boys and girls who nowadays get themselves entangled in so called love relationships as boyfriends and girlfriends have become an issue which has turned into a menace that has eaten deep into our society.

I have a very personal touch with this subject in particular because I deal with many young people about this where I teach and train them and this particular topic is the top in the questions they ask me. The issue of boy friends and girl friends love relationships is now a fashion and every young girl out there and young boy wants to get themselves a girlfriend or a boyfriend.

If you don’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend now, it seems that your are old school and don’t know what’s trending and this has put a lot of girls in jeopardy. I have girls who come to me and say that their friends are mocking them that they don’t have boyfriends and I do my best to persuade them to keep themselves and focus on building their lives first.

I even have girls who come to tell me that they want to go into a relationship just because every one else is doing it or because they want to have a boy who helps them financially and I still try my best to let them know that will only hurt their future. In all my teaching I try to emphasize that this nowadays fashion of relationship is not good and should be avoided.

Love at this tender age is not true. Going into love relationship at this age is awakening love at the wrong time and that may be very disastrous especially for the girls.

Just last week someone called me and told me of a girl who was in 100level in college who got pregnant for a boy in school. She has been calling the boy to come and take responsibility for the pregnancy but he has stopped picking her call.

The girl is left stranded and heart broken and is thinking of committing abortion so that she wouldn’t have to drop out of school. Worst part is that her family has rejected her too. All of this happened because of so called boy friend and girlfriend love. There’s no future for such relationships.

Many people believe that if they get involved in this false relationship of boyfriend and girlfriend that it will make them acceptable in the society. They want to be like everyone else but that’s not true.

One can decide to be different and not do what everyone is doing and no one will crucify you. All they can do is criticize you but you will save yourself from many troubles. I was criticized among my friends for not having a boyfriend during my college days but I didn’t mind them. I still stood my ground.

There’s a saying that time tests all things. If a man truly loves you he will wait for you. The love must be rested by time. He will wait for you to get to that right stage when you have become stable in life to an extent. When you have accomplished something’s in life like education and bit of financial stability, then love can come in.

Then someone who truly loves you will care for you and reach out to help you in your times of need. You can care without loving but you can love someone without caring for the person.

Supporting and encouragement is also a good show of true love. Being there for you in your down times and your up times shows that love is there.

In conclusion I’d say Nowadays love and relationship is more of a thing of fashion but one should not follow the crowd but rather stand with what is right.
