I love your sincerity about preferring upvotes, am sure many others do too and am also of the opinion that comments are also as important cos the upvotes builds your account while the comments build relationships…they are two sides of a coin.
Yea and Upvotes builds our csi when we are the ones upvoting others…

You got my point. None of this is less important. Both of them are essential. Like you've said, one builds the account while the other builds relationship.
