Hello, good day everyone in this community,and all the steemit users, today happens to be my first day of posting in this community and i strongly believe that I'm welcome in this community,and I also believe that everyone will go through my post and drop a wonderful comment.and i want to say big thanks to @patjewell for organizing this contest.and I'm wishing my self best of luck in this contest.i'm glad to participate in this contest that says "choices!what will it be".

My topic today is snail, because.i love eating snail.i remember back then when I was in village with my siblings,at night we always go to fetch snail in the bush.

Snail
Snail are soft bodies creature with shell, they review or classify as freshwater, marine or terrestrial gastropod mollusk usually having an external enclosing spiral shell. They are class of mollusks know as gastropod, they have foot and mantle cavity like other mollusks. They also have a well-developed head region and generally sport a spiral coiled, one piece shell
Snail are ubiquitous, some dwell in the ocean other in the freshwater of rivers, pond and lake.
Land snail abound in tropical jungle and in damp temperature regions.

The snail head bear the mouth opening and one or two pairs of tentacles. The eyes are set upon or at the base of the tentacles. The animals use it's flat foot to creep from place to place. Specialized gland cell of the foot secrete mucus, which lubricates the path over which the snail crawl. This account for the slick trail that the animal leaves as it passes over a more or less flat surface. Both the head and foot of a snail can be withdrawn into the shell.

Freshwater snails and land snail have been eaten by people since prehistoric times. Today they are still regarded as delicacies in many countries, the market supply comes largely from snail that are raised in captivity on special farms in southern France, Italy, Spain, and some part of Africa. In some areas snail are considered pest due to the observe and well noted effect they cause on plant as they feed voraciously on garden crops.

The giant African snail known as Archatina fulica. Has become a particularly serious menace, this creature is a native of East Africa but now found in many other land it sometimes more than 6 inches, big round as a tennis ball, its diet is varied including garden plant etc.

Whelk and periwinkles are marine snails commonly used as food in Europe and some part of Africa mostly West Africa like Nigeria. Whelk is widely distributed in the North Atlantic, it also use as bait in cod fishing other than serving as food. Periwinkle are found in temperate and cold sea and rivers in many area. Prewinkle can be classify and identify having a long tongue or radula, they abound on rocks mould and in seaweed on which they feed.

Snail has economic important their shell can be use for decoration, in the West Africa like Nigeria use snail shell for part of their attires in dancing in traditional decorations etc. sold out as souvenirs.
Snail shell serves as fertilizer because of the present of lime.
It is also use to feed domestic birds such as chicken and others.
