Bottle Gourd Plant	Flower

A couple days ago I went to my village home in Dinajpur. I love going to the village after a long time. There it’s so peaceful without all the busy city life. It makes me feel relaxed. On the way home, I saw my mother planted a bottle gourd plant in the yard. The plant was growing well. it had white flowers and Some of the small bottle gourds already were growing. The plant appeared fresh and lively.

My mother was very careful about the bottle gourd plant. She had put pesticide treated paper on the plant to keep insects away. She watered the plant too, she took care of it and loosened the soil around its base. My mother’s love for the plant was not meant just for getting food but somehow she connected herself with nature.

My mother picked a small bottle gourd from the plant one day. She tore it in pieces, and cooked a simple curry out of it. The curry tasted amazing. The special thing was the fresh bottle gourd and the care my mother made in cooking. Fresh natural food tastes better, and we feel peaceful feelings inside.

We all sat and ate the curry my mother had made that afternoon. The food from the plant my mother had cared for, we all felt so happy eating it. It wasn’t a meal,it was a story of nature’s love every bite.

Connected With Nature

Planting and taking care of a plant reminds of us that we’re connected more to nature. The food we get is healthy food and it makes us feel good. I also learned that it’s good for the environment if we use natural ways to protecting plants.
