Today, I am pleased to participate in the “Women in the Spotlight✨ #09 (Women’s passion for shopping 🛍️🛍️)” contest by @aviral123. Shopping for me isn’t just an option: it is me; it is the way I pass my time, the way I show my imagination and the most pleasant activity I enjoy in life. Whether it be for as simple as window shopping, going on a quest for a pair of accessories or going out for a good shopping spree, shopping is one activity that I never turn down.

The statement “Women are crazy about shopping” is very true to the letter, especially to someone like me Shopping is not only an activity of purchasing goods but also the creativity of an individual and also a way of creating time. In my view shopping is one of the most fulfilling activities that a person can undertake with regards to aspects such as fashion and clothing or any other product that can characterize the personality of an individual.Still, shopping is not an ordeal for me, but rather a fancy that women as myself always crave. The pleasures that come with dressing well, the feeling of excitement when one selects a handbag to complement an outfit or the delight of going out to shop as a form of therapy are part of the reasons why shopping is so engaging. There is a way that people find a sport or an endeavor and therein lies passion and for some even the pursuit of happiness.

Therefore, although it cannot be generalized for all women, the statement is quite accurate for those of us who like to shop and get excited about it.

It would be interesting to note that women do both online and offline shopping and they are not exclusive to either mode. However, people prefer to shop online in today’s fast world, which I myself prefer to do so most of the time. Some of the reasons why customers prefer online shopping includes: The features that make online shopping appealing include: Though shopping offline gives the actual feel of the product as well as touch and feel factors, the convenience and comfort of shopping online are always on a plus side, especially for working women like me.

Online Shopping

Advantages:

✅Convenience: You do not have to move out of your house to buy whatever products you need.

✅Variety: Opportunity to reach a number of products and choose a brand or store.

✅Comparison: customers find it easy to compare prices and read the reviews and make sensible choices.

✅Time-Saving: They also help in avoiding time which would have been used moving from one place to another or even queuing.

Disadvantages:

✅Shipping Costs: Extra charges may arise and sometimes are a little high when doing transactions across borders.

✅No Physical Examination: Cannot afford to have large stocks of merchandise which consumers can examine before purchasing, this results in dissatisfaction.

✅Delivery Issues: It exposes one to the risk of delayed delivery, lost packages or even products that are received in a poorly handled state.

✅Returns and Exchanges: Most of the time it can be slightly inconvenient and quite expensive to return products if one is not satisfied with them.

Offline Shopping

Advantages:

✅Immediate Gratification: Take the product right now without waiting for some time for delivery of the actual product.

✅Tactile Experience: The choices of fashion products can be tried on before purchasing them.

✅Personal Service: Personal approach to employees of the stores that offer help and guidance.

✅No Shipping Costs: Do not pay for extra facilities and try to order from the service that will securely deliver your paper.

Disadvantages:

✅Time-Consuming: Time consuming since it involves moving from one store to the other and sometimes one has to push himself or herself through the crowd.

✅Limited Variety: It’s possible that stocks could be restricted to whatever is in the supermarkets.

✅Price Comparison: It becomes even more difficult to compare prices by different stores.

✅Inconvenience: Store hours and location are something that does not always coincide with your timetable.

The differences between these two styles of shopping are complex with certain advantages and disadvantages and the decision to use one or the other depends on personal opinion and conditions.

There are many applications for online shopping, but Amazon still takes a strong position because of the availability of goods, reviews, and delivery time. The first merchant, eBay, is tend to used for purchasing unique or second-hand items.; Shopify can be used to find many products from small independent boutiques. Other similar stores that are frequently used are the Walmart and Target since they also provide the option of pick-up at the store. The reasons as to why these apps are popular among women include, ease of use as well as the number of services they offer.

Therefore, women’s passion to shop is not just to acquire objects and things that can be used, but also to enjoy oneself as an individual which can be done offline or online.
