MY VISIT TO MY GOD-MOTHER

My god-mother is a woman I call a virtuous woman. She is a woman of substance and great value and I value her a lot. She has been my inspiration and one of the strongest woman I have known. I knew her through my husband.

When I was dating my husband, she was our relationship matron, a mother I can freely run to and complain about all the things I'm bothered with and she will advice me and guard me through any form of relationship challenges.

I have been planning to visit her so I finally visited on Saturday 28th of September, 2024. We were together at my shop, therefore after closing we went back to her house together.

We arrived her house at about 8:20pm (Nigerian time) in the night, she made eba to eat with editan soup which is one of my favourite soup. We had dinner and after that, we gisted till around 11pm before we went to sleep. She shared her most shocking experience with me.

Her story goes:
She had two girls and was lookng for a male child for a while. So after giving birth to the two daughters she took in again and was praying that it should be a boy by the time she gave birth, she refused to carry a scan when it due for scan to know the sex of the child believing that God will grant her desire.

By the time she gave birth, it was a baby boy but tragedy hit her. The boy died at birth😭. This must have been so devastating for her and her family.

Weeks after, she went to the hospital for check up and the doctor told her that she might find it difficult to concieve a child stating one medical issue that could not remember the name.

She said she didn't believe or take what the doctor said and left the hospital, came back home and cried out to God begging God to grant her with a son because her husband happened to be the only son of his family.

So it will be a shame for her not to a have male child to carry on the husband's name. She prayed and believed God for another child and surprisingly, she got pregnant again after 6 months of expecting.

After nine months she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. She was so happy and gave glory to God. So after that, she decided she is satisfied with that one son and she is not giving birth again. After the long story we went to bed. We woke up yesterday (Sunday) and went to church together as one big family.

MY LESSON

What I learnt from her experience is that doctor's report is not God's report for us, if we could just trust and have faith, God will surely manifest in our lives. Thanks @ruthjoe for this amazing contest.
