SEC S16 W6// "My photo album as a woman"

in hive-168072 •  11 months ago  (edited)

Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog as I share “my photo album with you all. We all had some moments in our lives captured in pictures and documented. I think steemit is a better place to document those photos.

My images designed on Canva.

I will be sharing some five images captured on different occasions of my life. Hope you all find pleasure going through the images as explained below 👇

This image was captured in 2014 in South Africa. I had just arrived on campus (University of Johannesburg) for postgraduate studies. A week after I settled down on campus, I went grocery shopping.

It was at pick and pay shop at the campus square mall. The funny thing about this image is that at that time in Cameroon, apples were seen as a luxury fruit and very expensive as they imported. While at this mall, I realised how cheap apples were to the extent that I picked up a full packet of apples which lasted for few days.

This one was during my undergraduate graduation day at 2012 at the University of Buea. It was an exciting and tiring day as well. On this day early in the morning, the joy to put on the robe and go to campus was fun. The fun was no longer fun and I wished to returned back home and rest as one has been on heels the whole day doing nothing but seat and listen from one speech to another.

Protecting the rights of vulnerable people in my community is my job and this image was taken in 2018 at the military tribunal in Bamenda. During this time the Anglophone crisis had escalated and the government embarked on a journey of arbitrary arrest and detentions, tortured and thrown into prison. I and my team had to follow up some of the human rights violations and abuses cases at the military court.

We are facing food shortages all over the world and economic crisis worsened the situation of some people in some Countries. The way out is for us to embark on agriculture for food security. This image was captured in 2021 in my farm as I went to harvest cassava for garri.

The last image was taken during COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. A lot of people could not accept the fact that the pandemic was actually killing millions of people around the world. Most people refused to follow government barrier measures. I and my team had to risk it to go to the communities for sensitization and creating awareness. We equally distributed our locally made face mask. During this time I was heavily pregnant with my second child.

I have come to the end of my presentation and would like @saxopedia, @mesola, @ngoenyi and @inspiracion to share their entries to the contest.

That cassava looks so huge looking like a tuber of yam, your humanitarian duty is commending despite being heavily pregnant, well done. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with the contest

The yields from the cassava farm was equally surprising for me because I was not expecting it that big. Thank you friend for the support.

That is what we call a bountiful harvest!! Enjoy

Your photos are amazing, each of them represents unforgettable moments of your life. The last picture attracted me, the cassava is so big I wish I could get the stem for planting.

Exactly my friend, these are some moments of my life that I will never forget in a hurry.

As for the cassava, I think it’s not about the stem but the soil was fertile. Thank you for the support.
