SEC13 WK4: "Shopping Spree!"

I welcome everyone to my page. Shopping or Buying in the house is something we all enjoy doing especially for women. It is primarily in our nature to shop for ourselves and buy new stuff both materially for use and edibles for the home.

Who does the shopping in your household? Why?

This is an understanding in the house. Anyone does that in my home. It is either I'm doing that or my hubby is doing the same. There hasn't been any form of indifference in this matter. Mostly, some of this shopping is done at one's convenience. I may go out for my daily activities and decide to pick some items needed at home without any ceremony attached.

This also goes to my spouse who also does the same. There are times when he will call me to ask me if I could get some groceries on my way coming back to the house and I do also ask him the same when he is still outside the house. But, for major purchases making large quantities of food, it requires that one needs to visit the traditional markets here. I usually attend such shopping/buying.

Are you a “shopper” or a “buyer”? Explain

I have a dual identity in this. I am the chief shopper and buyer of the house. Shopping is usually done when we try to get the best prices for items whereas as a buyer, it means making real purchases. Intention to buy comes with shopping while monetary involvement comes with buying.

I mostly do the children's shopping where I do window shopping to help get the best prices for all required items needed by them. This kind of shopping helps to prepare me for the real deal which is buying. So, I can say I'm the chief shopper in the house and partly buyer as well.

Who do you think finds the best bargains, men or women?

Oh wow, we the female gender are best at bargaining. We don't need to be told that the prices we are told are usually expensive. We try as much as possible to check out other sellers and know the one that best fits our purse.

It is a trans-generational trend from our mothers to us. Since we are their DNA, we will also transfer the same to our girl child. There is no room for competition as we will always take the lead.

What do you prefer? Brand or service? Give your reasons.

I am a brand person. My love for quality other than quantity would always speak for me even before I make my choice. I should get what I want with satisfaction and now deal with the service.

Brand products are usually quality and tested products that seem to have a longer shelf life than the untested. Giving to the fact that they will last longer should give me the zeal to always prefer brands.

Lastly, show us what you bought on your latest shopping spree.

Good enough, I had to make some surprise purchases during my spouse's birthday early this year. It was a surprise gift to him and in this case, it was instant shopping without delays since it was meant for the day's purpose.

Some of the items bought were yogurt, doughnuts, purf, Rice (Basmati/Banga), Chicken, and breadfruit.

Conclusion

In summary, shopping and buying are mainly my gender thing. We love gifts and also like surprises. Our male counterparts may also share in this responsibility but I believe we have a more grounded advantage given to our culture and norms.
