TELL YOUR STORY#1(A KNOCK CAN SAVE A GREAT DEAL)

Hello everyone! I want to share a story of what happened to me yesterday in church that reminded me of a similar occurrence few years ago with my roommate in School!

WHAT HAPPENED

So I was supposed to wear a certain crested polo to church on Sunday, yesterday but because I couldn't get the polo on Saturday, I had to wear a different polo to church where I will get the ideal polo for the occasion!

When I got to church, I got the polo and was to change into it; but because there was no available changing room, I had to settle for the restroom!

Before going to the restroom, I called my sister to stand watch for me and notify me when someone is coming because the restroom was for both genders and it didn't have a lock!

Right outside the restroom, I saw a dear friend and I was happy that at least I now have two people standing watch for me, so I confidently entered the restroom and started undressing to change into the crested polo!

For some reason, I wasn't very confident about the people outside watching out for me, so I made a silent prayer in my heart and then started changing! The moment I just wore the polo and my jacket, somebody just pushed the door open! On seeing me he shouted oh sorry and walked out! as I looked out it was a guy who wanted to use the restroom! While he was walking out, that was when the two people who where supposed to notify me that someone is coming realized that a disaster has happened; but luckily for me, I was already fully dressed when he opened the restroom!

This incident reminded me of 9 years ago in university, myself and some very wonderful people teamed up and rented a 6 bedroom flat, in that flat we where 6 ladies and 6 guys! The ladies stayed in one end of the flat that had 3 rooms and a restroom and the guys, the other end of the flat that had 3 rooms and a restroom! We had a very good relationship, so the guys where free to enter our room at will! They were so free with us that they didn't even think it necessary to knock before entering our room!

In that flat myself and my roommate where sharing one of the rooms and In our room, we had a very big mirror which was one thing missing in the guys room, so they always come into our room anytime they want to use the mirror!

One Thursday evening, my roommate just woke up from sleep to prepare for midweek service! She woke up tired, so she sat down on the plastic chair in our room wearing only her panties! I left the room to get the clothes I hanged outside, on coming back, I saw one of the guys zooming out of our room, then I remember that my roommate was sitting down naked, as I entered the room I saw her crying that the guy walked in on her naked!

The guy was very sorry that he didn't knock, but then we learnt our lesson, to always lock our room whenever we need to change!

WHAT I LEARNT FROM THE EXPERIENCE

The incident yesterday taught me to be very cautious! I remember how much the incident with my roommate traumatized her, not just that it was any guy, but it was a guy she knows very well! In a situation like that, one ought to be very cautious and be alert! I thank God that I was fully dressed before the man opened the door of the restroom! Being that it was someone I know, it would have been a very traumatizing experience for me! Just one knock on the door can save a great deal!
