Christmas Eve

How is Christmas usually celebrated in your family?

OMG! Christmas is always the highest celebration so far every year in my family. We make sure everything is available such as rice for cooking, chin-chin, minerals and meat. It's the celebrations of Christ's birthday which is seen and counted as one of the best, memorable and exciting one for Christians. Before the christmas day, we also decorate our sitting rooms with Christmas roses.

What meals do you eat that day?

Since from my childhood till this stage of life, I have been seeing my parents I mean my mother always cooking white rice and I know her reasons for doing that is that, she wants to preserve the stew such that the stre can be consumed the following day and more. Meat is another good that is always available on Christmas day and for the meat, my father doesn't joke at all.

What do you like most about Christmas Eve?

One of the thing I like most about Christmas is the fact that we go to church at night, act some drama, and making sure everywhere is lively and the exciting part is that, the eve is always 10pm -12pm such that once it's 12pm everyone starts shouting saying happy Christmas. At that point, I am always very impressed and happy in thanksgiving to God Almighty for seeing another beautiful Christmas again.

Do you gather with your family to celebrate Christmas?

Honestly I don't have friends like that, the only lady that is my friend has travelled out of the country which I am actually alone now at all times. I love a life of no friend, my sister has been my friend and everything.

The Christmas is always exciting for me because people come from different places to celebrate Christmas at home and what my community always do is to gather at the village square to celebrate the Christmas.

What can't be missed on Christmas Eve?

One thing that cannot and should not be missed on Christmas Eve is Rocket. Rocket is what gives us excitement on the celebration of Christmas and it makes us feel so happy for the fact that Christmas is here again. Seeing another Christmas day is a thing of joy and happiness so playing rocket is very important to remind us of Christmas again.

Would you like to watch a Christmas movie that night?

Yes I will love to watch a Christmas movie that night. Christmas eve is one of the best nights out of all follow by the new year eve and truth be told, I somuch cherish what ever related to Christmas and that is why, watching a Christmas movie will be my one priority and joy.
