First of all, I am very happy to enjoy sharing my posts with all of you.
On 31 July 2024 after dinner, my husband and I went for a drive on our scooty (two wheeler).
Because, at this time, the Kavad Yatra of the worshippers of Lord Shiva is going on in India. Those who do this yatra go to the source of the river Ganga from far away on foot and bring water from there and offer it to Lord Shiva in the temple.
And during the Kavad Yatra, the whole city looks very beautifully decorated. It is very enjoyable to see the outside views and the colorful beautiful Kavad.
Kavad Yatra:
Shravan month is going on in our India. Worshiping Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan brings special blessings. During this time, devotees of Bholenath fill water in Kavad and do Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.
The festival of Shivratri is celebrated on the 13th day of the month of Sawan. This day is considered special for Lord Shiva.
On this day, devotees perform Jalabhishek of Lord Bhole Nath with Gangajal brought in Kavad from Haridwar.
It is said that by offering water to Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan, he becomes very happy and fulfills all the wishes.
That is why some devotees go to take Kavad in the month of Shravan,
Kavad is considered very important in this month. 🤗
Lord Shiva becomes very happy by offering only one lota of water during Kavad Yatra.
That is why my husband and I also went to see the Kavad Yatra.
As soon as we reached the road, we enjoyed seeing colorful Kavad. The whole city was beautifully decorated, Bhandara (free food arrangement for devotees) was going on at many places and there was a different vibrancy in the city.
We had just stepped out when it started raining lightly and the weather became very pleasant, which made our outing even more fun 🥰
We walked around for a while enjoying this pleasant weather, saw the Kavad and then came back home with ice cream for all of us 😊.
