Hello Steemians, it's your girl @echuku
I am so delighted to participate in this beautiful contest in the Steem For Ladies Community by @ruthjoe, thank you so much ma for this amazing contest, it is my pleasure to drop my entry and I do hope that you all enjoy my post.

What happened

In this story, I want to tell a story about a Protestant (mother) who I came across on social media while I was watching a short video on TikTok.

What prompted me to tell theis story about this particular woman was that she gave birth to a newborn baby and last week Saturday which was 5th October 2024 the newborn baby was two weeks old according to the woman.

So when people saw this woman with a newborn baby on her back protesting, it drew their attention to her which made people ask her why she could go out with the baby to protest.

The response the woman gave to people was so sympathy, she said, her husband died in a motor accident when her pregnancy was six months old, and she also said that she has two other children at home.

She went further to say that for the past seven days she with her children have been taking gari because her little amount of money can not buy a major of rice or beans, she complaint is very bitter about the challenges she used to face in the market as a result of how expensive food is in the market.

She said a lot of things that are heart touching and her story touched me too because according to experience, the woman wasn't lying, so many Nigerians are going through difficulties of different kinds it's just that a lot of them don't dare to come out just as this woman came out.

Nigeria and Nigerians are currently experiencing its worst economic crisis in a generation, leading to widespread hardship and anger.

A liter of petrol costs more than three times what it did ten months ago, while the price of the staple food, rice, beans, etc have more than doubled in the past year and, unfortunately, the government efforts to remodel the economy have also added to the burden.

What you have learned from it

I have learned that as we the citizens of Nigeria are still hoping that the country will soon be better, we all must do the following

Focus on budgeting meticulously to prioritize essential expenses and ignore the non-essential needs to keep our lives moving because the economic situation in Nigeria has no prediction on how it will end.

This administration of government is not for spending money anyhow.

Thank you all for your usual support, love, and time that you have dedicated to reading my post. I love you all❤

I want to invite @vickyson and @dave-hanny

Thank you for participating…..

Thank you for sharing the inspiring story of a mother who bravely stands up for her beliefs despite challenging circumstances. It's heartbreaking to hear of her passing, but her ability to energize the body shines through as she balances motherhood with activism. Women's strength is confirmed in the face of adversity.

Is so unfortunate for us because never in history has rice been sold for 2,000 naira but it has passed this amount right now I did not blame the mother for bringing her new baby to the protest ground because even the baby must have been hungry, the masses are crying because they can't afford to buy things in the market any longer but the government have shot there ear from hearing the cry of the people best wishes dearly

Thank you ma
