Empowering Women: The Path to Self-Dependence

A woman shoud be independent as an individual. It is about mental independence above all. A woman, like anyone else, exists regardless of others, has her own mentality and way of thinking, has desires and has moments of suffering.

In my opinion, independence in life is having the ability to think for yourself and choose who to live with and having the ability to be heard. These skills lead the woman to find her place in the world and have her importance and be able to face difficult people and things.

It is an independence that starts from childhood and from the education received in one's family, and then develops with education which can be scholastic, but also self-taught.

After this independence, comes economic independence which is important, but not always synonymous with real independence.

Many are afraid of independence because they think it excludes other parts of life like having a family or having a partner and supporting them, but it doesn't.

I'm not a mom, and I don't think a woman necessarily has to be a mom to be happy or to contribute to this world.

However, the role of the mother is fundamental, when an independent woman teaches her kids to live with curiosity, with respect, with honesty, but she also teaches them to get busy and assert themselves in life, and she teaches it to her sons and daughters the same. Then women's independence can indeed improve the world.

The life of an independent woman in my opinion is better, that doesn't mean it's easier. Sometimes it's hard having to explain your choices, sometimes it's hard to feel like you're doing everything yourself or taking responsibility for your mistakes.

I believe that an independent person still has greater satisfactions from life and above all that she doesn't have to depend on the will of others.

It is clear that an independent woman cannot do everything she wants and that in any case we human beings live in a group, we live in society and therefore we are always influenced by the thoughts and actions of our loved ones and our friends.

I believe that an independent woman should try to speak and communicate better with her loved ones first of all. That doesn't mean they will understand or support us, and being independent also means getting rejected or having to argue a few times.

We often think of an independent woman as a working woman. This is true many times, but it is not always the case.

A woman can be independent even if she stays at home with her children and takes care of them when her decision was made together with her husband and they organized family life together and not because it was imposed on her.

On the other hand we can have a woman who works but is not independent because her money is controlled by her husband, or is economically independent but is always subject to the decisions of other people, for example her husband or parents.

So an independent woman who has a family can still devote a lot of attention to her family and children and it is not true that she neglects them. This does not depend on whether you work or not.

However, it is true that if she works, the time available to take care of the family is much less, so the family must be organized differently.

To be independent you need curiosity, reading and studying. It is not necessary to attend high-level universities, but one must strive to improve and study and learn as much as possible.

Women should talk to other people and understand their lives and understand other women's lives in distant countries to compare and see different points of view. Talking to their grandmothers and mothers to understand what their lives have been like and why. And also talk to friends about important topics to help each other and to be stronger.

Also a woman should talk about herself, her desires and need and she shouldn't be scared to ask for help!

Sometimes it's the other women who don't like our independence, because in a certain sense it's like we question their way of life...that's why we need to talk a lot between us.

Sometimes it is thought that knowing other worlds and other cultures is "dangerous" for one's own, but I believe that one should not be afraid to see other worlds. Sometimes these other worlds bring positive news into ours and other times they consolidate the good things that already exist in ours and that we had taken for granted.

To be independent women we also need a lot of patience and we need to build great self-esteem! Because we can be exposed to a lot of criticism!
