A Letter to my Loving self

Introduction

I couldn't have been happier than I am today. It's the day that the Lord has made. I am so excited and at the same time overwhelmed by God's mercies and love towards me. I can't take it for granted that for the past three decades and more, that God has taken care of me like He is doing.

My beloved steemians, today is my birthday. That's why you are reading this letter from me to me. I just want to be happier beyond imagination. That's why I'm sharing this with you.

Birth/Growing up

I was born on a Sunday evening, on the 10th of May many years back. I am the first of all my siblings and also the first grandchild of my grandparents. Growing up was just amazing because I enjoyed love and care from my extended family members and my parents. Life became tough as I grew older. Little did I know it was just a tip of the iceberg until I became an adult.

Having to fend for myself, paying my bills and taking care of myself made me realise the true side of life. As if that wasn't enough, I just thought getting married would solve the problem, but hell no.

Marriage, though a beautiful thing, brought more stress, taking care of the home as a mother and other responsibilities made it look as if adulthood is a scam like people usually say in my country.

Not so long ago, I discovered that this life keeps getting tougher, and that I have the responsibility to take care of myself too. Of course, no one will take care of it if I don't.

Letter to Dear Self

So my very dear self, Evelyn. I love you, you're the best version of you. For being so helpful, strong and resilient, you deserve the best.

This year, I promise to take good care of you. I promise to pamper you. I promise that you'll get a rest when due. I promise you'll not be over stressed or misused.

I pray that you'll be stronger, beautiful, younger, loving and blessed. I love you dear self, the Lord continues to keep and preserve you.
