Choices! What will it be? #71

Hello friends, I feels good to participate in this contest again, thanks to @patjewell for making this contest available to test my intellectual.

Well as simple as the contest is, I'm gonna choose a topic to talk about and it's "income".

This term from my standpoint is money earned from anywhere or any business as far as it is for an individual's or organization's use.

I'm gonna talk about a family, unfortunately it wasn't quite an organized home, this was during the ancient times.

Mazi John was a drunkard and a lazy man. He practically hated working, but he was forced by his father in his teenage years to work.

He tried taking over his father's palm wine business before his father died but it only lasted for about 5 years, and at the end of that time his father died.

His father was the pushing force behind his success and as soon as he died, John slacked and lost everything.
During his prospering years he met Linda, the most beautiful damsel in the village.
Linda didn't love him at all, but was forced into an arranged marriage with him.
She knew that even though he seemed to be prospering now, he would soon lose all his income, so she tried as she could to save um little amounts of money from menial jobs.

As though she knew, after her father-in-law died, they lost everything, by then she had a four year old son: Jude

John brought out his true self, he stopped working and bringing any income into the family, instead Linda would use her savings, John noticed that Linda had money, and when she left for work one day, he searched the house and took every penny Linda had saved.

Linda came back hoping to pay her son's school fees the next day, but she came back to an empty 👛 purse.

"John, I know it's you, I'm not in for any issues, please just kindly return my money, I have a lot of issues which you don't handle that I do" Linda said

"Oh Linda is that so, you make me laugh, so you have money in this house and I'm looking for the one to use and fill my bottle, please leave this place in fact every income you get from today belongs to me" John said

"John! Can you hear yourself, I'm using that money to pay Jude's school fees, if I asked you will you give me, look allow me to manage my life and raise my child since you refuse to accept your responsibility as the man of the house, you've stopped bringing in any income, wasting all my money on drinking" Linda said

John was very annoyed he slapped Linda "Shut up woman, to hell with some child you have, let him stay at home and make money for my needs" John screamed, it scared the boy and he started crying, John went and hit him hard, he became unconscious, he gave Linda a serious beating and took all her income for the day from her, came back the next day drunken to stupor.

Linda was tolerating all his nonsense, but when it threatened her son's life she sneaked out to her grandma's place to stay, since the old lady was still very much alive and wasn't in support of the arranged marriage.

Her granny's place was in another village, so Linda started working making money, soon she was a settle business woman in the village, gave her granny a befitting burial.

When everything and everyone John could borrow from was exhausted he heard about his successful wife in the other village and went to her about 10 years later.
He knocked on the beautiful house where he heard she lived and a boy came out, tall and good looking, just had Linda's amazing beauty fitted into his handsome face.

"You must be my son,the one I wasted all my income on" John said as he tried to touch him, Jude pushed his hand away.

"Mom I feel like a crazy guy is at the door come check" He said

Linda came and saw him
"Well isn't it the poorest guy on earth, how about we welcome him inside, do good things to the poor" Linda said and he came in, he was awe struck with the luxury they lived in.

"Uhm my dear Linda, you are looking as beautiful as you always have, come let's continue our marriage" John said
Suddenly Jude looked his direction smiled and said "Welcome Dad" and began running.

John believing it was him opened up his hand, but Jude ran past him to a dark skinned handsome muscular guy at his back.

The guy went and pecked Linda, Why! He was the greatest wrestler in their village.

"I'm sure you were saying something, weren't you John" Linda said

"Uhm nothing"

"You know my advice for you John?, Get up and make some money for yourself, now get out"

As he turned to go he saw another little girl that looked like Linda, she had another child, he was annoyed and ashamed as news of him went round villages.

He began to try best finally to have some income but he was too lazy and rude, he became an outcast and committed suicide.

Well I hope this story portrayed the importance of income, thanks for reading guys.
